Good luck, Kumar! I could tell the excitement from your tone last evening. This is probably as close as a dream can get for a road-warrior like yourself.

Guys, Hvkumar intends to put up a review of a GPS device at the end of this trip. I'm pretty sure he will test it inside-out!

We - me, my wife, my 13-year son, his school friend, and my 60-year friend - propose to leave at 8 pm on Thu evening, for a marathon drive to Sambalpur in Orissa - 1450 kms - along NH3/NH6 via Nasik, Dhulia, Jalgaon, Khamgaon, Akola, Amaravathi, Nagpur, Bhilai, Raipur. We hope to reach Sambalpur in 26 hours, by 10 pm on Fri.

Day 1 is going to be very tough, most of the journey on some clogged and 2-lane highways, along thoroughly boring terrain. I guess we will encounter the early 40s heat.

Hopefully, we will post updates on progress.

Wow!

That's a fantastic trip itinerary covering almost 10k kms in 3 weeks. I have been working on an idea of traveling around 1500 kms for an official visit in my car, but somehow Iam not really getting though with it. Your driving passion is really taking you out on such trips with high positive energy

Are you the only driver?

Eagerly waiting for an another mega thread

Thanks again, all.
Yes, I am the only driver.
We will be running 2 GPS devices (in one, we will also be checking out the highway map).
Car Cam will be videographing the entire route continuously.

Hvk, are you going to do a lot of night driving too? You said you are starting today at 8 pm. Being the only driver on such a long trip, I wonder how you plan to give yourself adequate rest in between.
