Lucky Bhaskar

Loved this film. Dulqur Salman and Meenakshi Chaudhary and all the other actors have done an amazing job. Set in the 1990"s amidst the Harshad Mehta scam, film is engrossing.

4/5

Telugu

Netflix

Cheers

I don't know if the team-Bhp restriction on emojis is right or wrong but I really feel for such exception cases, we should be allowed unlimited numbers.

The movie is expected to collect 120 crores minimum on the first day (Excluding the premier) worldwide, making it the highest-ever. Many multiplexes across India called today Pushpa Day and did not have any other release to give way to Pushpa completely.

My Wife wanted to watch today itself and has dragged her poor mother with her. I have kept two tablets for headaches on the table, just in case. I watched the first one in OTT. I will wait for some 2-3 weeks and watch it on a 99 Rupee show I guess. I really like Masala movies but was not that mighty impressed with part 1.

And you said you are not a die-hard fan .

Hearing mostly negative reviews from my circle, will wait for the initial frenzy to cool down and will decide whether to watch it or not.

Re: The Regional movies thread!

Just for my mother, i subscribed to Manorama Max and I am glad that she can watch more Malayalam movies with English subs.
Some older Malayalam movies on Zee5, Hotstar etc do not have English subtitles.

I have one query about OTT where regional content is available.
My Hotstar subscription has expired and since I also have a Jio sub, I did not renew the Hotstar subscription.
Now that the merger of Jio & Hotstar is finalized, when can we expect Hotstar content on Jio.
Thank You.

Planning to watch "Amaram" this weekend since it is out on OTT.

Kishkinda Kaandam
Malayalam - Disney+ Hotstar

Contrary to popular opinion, I wasn't quite taken aback by the plot twist which came along towards the end. The mystery could have been solved by anyone who had half a brain with all the evidence mentioned.

Vijayaraghavan's performance was stellar! Asif Ali remains the good student who gets minimum 85% in any exam he writes!

Re: The Regional movies thread!

AMARAN Netflix

Started the movie only because of Sai Pallavi and what an evocative story of a decorated leader and a hero. One look at the movie trailer may seem like a war movie but it’s a love story at the core. AMARAN tells the real life story of Major Mukund Varadarajan and his lady love Indhu Verghese and the struggles they fought together.

Kudos to the director Rajkumar Periasamy and the producer Kamal Hassan for making this. The story needed to be told to the larger audience. The battle scenes in Kashmir were superbly shot. What is impressive is that the director avoids the jingoism associated with war movie these days. The scenes have been shot without any judgement and people have been shown just as they should be.

Brilliantly acted by both the leads along with the supporting cast, the movie is one emotional roller coaster. While similarities with Hindi movie Shershah is inevitable, Amaran excels in the acting and emotive scale. Sai pallavi and Sivakarthikeyan are simply brilliant, they just walk into your heart by their sheer acting skills. Strongly recommended.

Rating: 4.5/5

Movie Name : Amaran
Language : Tamil
OTT : Netflix

My Rating - 4.5/5

This is one of the best Tamil movie of the year. This is a realistic portrayal of Major Mukund and his family. All actors have done justice to their characters. The BGM was quite good as well. The movie shows the pain that an Army family typically goes through.

A must watch movie.

Amaran

Heart touching and intense, very realistic. Lead pair has done a great job, and special mention to Sai Pallavi; she seem to be living the character. Just wow.
A great watch, helps understand better on Army life and about Major Mukunds family.
Moist eyes guaranteed.

Pushpa 2: The Rule

My Rating - 2/5

Good lord, what a waste of time. While the first movie had a decent storyline, this one felt like a filler, just building up for the 3rd and/or the 4th movie. The story felt slow and dragging in several places, and the pacing felt off.

The biggest flop show of the movie is what they did to Fahad's character. Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat was introduced as a menacing, scary character in the first move, and is frustratingly reduced to a laughable, cartoonishly-evil, buffoon. The bullock cart mime scene between Shekhawat and Pushpa was just too much cringe! Ruined the character completely. Hope the sequel(s) treat him better.

You hit the nail on the head.
I would give it 2 Stars only for Allu Arjun.
Phenomenal performance, (but 'zero story' by Sukumaran)

Thekku vadakku

Language - Malayalam
OTT - ManoramaMax

If you have nothing else to do but burn time. Do not watch for any other reason.

Rivalry between 2 people for land ownership. A comedy drama portrayed by Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vinayakan in the lead.
Bit of laughs here and there, but that isnt sufficient to save this movie.

My Rating: 2.25 / 5.

What was Suriya doing in this movie is best known to him only. Switched off after 20 mins of watching, could not take the torture anymore.

Sookshmadarshini

Went to the theatre with a neutral approach, but came out impressed. Great watch and without any unnecessary scenes.
Jovial first half with an intense second.

Nazriya has done a credible job, so are the rest.

*Not a comedy / fun movie as many think it is with the lead pair, its a thriller.

My Rating: 4 / 5

Really hate those one-man-army fights which sends the bad guys flying in all directions with a single punch from the hero.
Here the hero is even tossing the well bulit japanese villian 15 feet up into the air from his shoulders and catching him again while he jumps between pillars and poles fighting all the time. Hero fighting with both hands and legs tied.

The film pivots on a non-existent story line and flimsy reasons to pick up mega fights and action sequences and glorifying lawlessness and criminality.

And more frustrating were those sentimental family scenes and brotherly hatred, the hero's mother being the most irritating character.

Was pretty difficult to sit and watch all these unfolding.
