Haven't seen anyone review 'Manichitrathal' on this thread! (I have the VCD of it!)

I like this movie better than Chandramukhi & the hindi version!

CHANDRALEKHA

Fazil and Priyan team up with Mohanlal and Srinivasan to give us a decent entertainer. The story dwelves on the oh-so-typical male who has to carry the entire financial burden of his family on his shoulders as they are stuck up in some bank case and blah blah.

Enter a scenario where he saves a rich woman from an accident, and is forced to end up acting as her husband while she is paralyzed. Enter another woman who ends up falling in love with him, and then we know the inevitable ending.

Watch this to see the old Mohanlal as we always loved him... appealing and touching your heart with his performance. Compare this to his current movies and you realize how much he has gone down in quality of movies he chooses.

Srinivasan, Innocent, Nedumudi Venu and the rest of the gang turn in good supporting performances and the movie ambles along. I felt the ending was a little stretched, and unncessary twists thrown in. Some characters such as MamuKoya's was abrubtly discarded.

Decent timepass.

Sagar Alias Jackie. Rating 5/5 for visuals and audio. Story 3/5.

Loved Neeraj's works and to me its better than Big-B. He did his best to project Lal to max with his style. A film that is to be enjoyed on big screen.

To Harihar Nagar. Fun 4/5. Story 4/5

I cant remember a joke from the sequel ! none! 'kakka thoori !' First part is classic.

First part is all fun, the whole theatre was is tears, laughing. Second part is 'senti', the climax is good, the villain is good too, more powerful and strong that what SAJ has.

I will buy SAJ's DVD for its audio/video. I will watch To Harihar Nagar when it comes on TV or download it from internet.

BHAGYADEVATHA

A Shaji Kailas movie with a very simple storyline, and no overaction from the star cast. Set around the backwaters of Kuttanad, Jayaram is a cable TV operator who dreams of making it big. His friend Nedumudi Venu convinces him that the easiest way is by investing the money he gets as dowry in a fishing boat. Girls father is unable to pay up the money on the wedding day, and therein comes the twist to the tale.

Watched it with family and it was a decent entertainer, like the Malayalam movies of yore. Go ahead and catch it, if you're looking for simple timepass with some comedy sprinkled in places.

I saw 2 new movies - currency and passenger.
Currency has a variety in its story, but the film as a whole is not that good.
Passenger is a mystery-type film. Its been made by a new dirctor - Renjith Shanker, and he has done a good work.
Rating:-
Currency - 6/10
Passenger - 9/10

I would give 4/5 for Bhagyadevada, very good concept and nicely laid out , no excessive drama and the likes.

Quite true. Its definitely one from the old style of Malayalam movies - simple and entertaining.

hmm.. For "Stylish" ?I thought bollywood movies will fit this space.malayalam movies are supposed to be ground to real type. This Sagar Alias Jacky Reminds me about a telegu actor called balakrishna(balayya) famous for dancing numbers. I know fan club effects may be the reason.
