Birthday?

Hi guys,

Bear with me.

I had taken a savings account in IDBI bank when they started off here a few months back. I got a call from the manager yesterday asking whether he can meet me today.

I was in for a surprise when he met me today handing over a parcel and wishing me for my birthday. The cake indeed was personalised with my name on it.

Now a flash back!

Way back in 1962, when they decided to put me in school (and in those days there were no birth certificates, and I was born in my mother's house), they thought why waste a year (as I should have been 5 to get into school) and so they decided that I was born on 23/04/1957.

The last time a birthday thread was started and I missed it. And on October 6, I thought I had no friends here as there was no thread or wishes.

So here I am accepting birthday wishes from all of you on this day.

Thanks to all who have already wished me and also to those who would wish me after this. And for those who wished me last year, a belated thanks.

In my 52 years, this is the only birthday that I have got a cake and so many wishes.

Oh! I went and booked a Yellow Nano!

Thanks again folks!

Hi,

I guess this off topic chit chat is fine when a DBhpian and Moderator start it!

Basically, I lose out when a lottery is involved in the deciding process.

Like the politicians have dummy candidates nominated to safeguard their constituency in case of rejection of their own nominations, mine is just a dummy booking for a friend who wants a backup in case he does not get an allotment.

If both of us get allocations, either a Golden CX BSIII or an yellow LX would be up for sale.

If both of us don't get allotments, 4500 down the drain for me!

Continuing in the off topic vein, even the base model is nice as there was one on display in my friend's town. In fact, the CX with its dark grey full fabric upholstery on the seats looks a little gloomier than the base model. This basic model was the blue one.

Thanks again for all these wishes. I am locking up them to release them on me for my actual birthday!
