I think your signature is taken from "The Princess Diaries"

Easy one? Why oh why did I have to find a 'senior' in my first attempt?

If not, then it's a Count Dracula remake in the vernacular :-)

Righto, nitrous! That's Christian Bale in the 2007 remake of "3:10 to Yuma"

As good as it gets. Spoken by Jack Nicholson to Helen Hunt.

Figure these (one ante-deluvian, one cult, one, well favourite):

1. "Sometimes I wonder why I spend the lonely night dreaming of a song..."

2. "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to do,
Nothing ain't worth nothing but it's free..."

3. "When I think back on all the crap I learned in high school
It's a wonder I can think at all..."

Ah, lovely thread this is turning out to be:

1. Nat King Cole - Stardust
2. Janis Joplin - Me & Bobby Mcgee
3. Paul Simon - Kodachrome

FYI, I already replied to Mansi!

predatorwheelz: Brilliant. I first heard the Mcgee rendition by Kris Kristofferson and he remains my favourite. Makes me go all mushy inside. Kodachrome: friend used to play it on the guitar at our parties around 200 years ago! He's now 2 continents removed and those days are gone.

Your Mansi reply: sorry. Saw 'Dharmendra' but missed the connection. Blind spot anyway

Eh? Kris Kristofferson had a version of this song too? Didnt know.

I had a friend (Kolkattan) who got me introduced to Paul Simon and King Crimson (vastly different, I know, I know) during our college days. Sadly, the pursuit of music these days is few and far between.

Some movie quotes from my side (any guesses?)

1) Death smiles at us all. All a man can do is smile back (Too easy)

2) My father was a gambler, a drunkard and a womanizer. I loved him!

3) Greed is good. Greed clarifies, greed cuts through (some text in the middle, long quote) and it is greed, you mark my words, that will save not only Teldar Paper, but the other malfunctioning corporation called the US of A.

Nobody? Not even a guess? Look closely, that is very young looking Dustin Hoffman with glasses, looking pretty much beat up with two goons looking at him, one guy brandishing a shotgun.

The Movie is Straw Dogs. Directed by Sam Peckinpah, this movie was pretty path-breaking (for its time, the 1970s) in the manner in which violence was shown. There is lots and lots of it with a lot of blood, gore and brain matter flying about, with a pretty graphic rape scene (almost as bad as the one in Irreversible) thrown in pretty artistically, without showing literally any skin. The movie was banned for a short while due to the extremely graphic violence shown in it.

I couldn't figure out most of the above quotes :( I did get the one from Wall Street and the one from Gladiator, but no luck on any of the other ones, including the one Mansi posted.

This is a great thread, netchef! Nice way of getting the grey matter to work

Next Q (movie), easy one!
"All babies want to get borned! All babies want to get borned!"

My favourite line from English movie remains

"Are you talking to me?"

Which movie?

Another one

"Never get into a relationship that you cannot break off within 10 seconds" (Maybe not exactly these words but most of it)
