Re: All T-BHP Bolero Owners with Pics of their SUV

I am totally in love with all those Bolero's on display here. Absolutely fantastic! Tells me tons about their owners. Great choice guys! Bolero is one of those best things to have happened in the Indian Automotive scenes over the last decade.

This may sound stupid, but right since its very first versions, I have always found the looks of this Gentle Giant (My apologies if I offended anyone with this name, this name struck me right when I saw the very first ones on the road) ending to look a lot like the Hummers & Humvee s. Especially whenever I look at them from the front and more importantly at the doors from the side view.

I am very close to deciding on my ride. Hopefully I will end up with this Gentle Giant, perhaps a newer version with ABS & SRS by the time I reach my savings goals (Who knows - a 2 DIN section & even a toned down version of the mhawk may find its way into it by then!!! - phew! I am hopeless I know! )

Yeah Surjit, It was hard to let it go...
My kiddo wasn't comfortable travelling in it, neither parents nor wifey. The seats, ergonomics, harsh ride, and cramped interior all contributed to the decision.
I am just glad that the new owner takes good care of it.

Roshith, Could you please let us know more about the Fender Flares, I am in desperate need of something to stop the splashing, the non-stop rains in Hyderabad this year, has made my life pretty tough so far.

The flares on your jeep are the best I have seen so far, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi buddy. Sorry for the delay in replying. As I mentioned they were made to order by my local TVSdealer. If you want I could check the cost and leg you know. Can courier it if you are interested. Let me know. I no longer have my beast with me. My family wasn't appreciative of the harsh ride.

Let me know if I can be of any help.

12 long years with the Bolero

I had 12 long years with the Bolero & I have moved on to a Toyota Fortuner as I myself am a family man now, but that being being said, For the "Indian Hilly Regions" I must say that the Bolero simply Rules!!. Its practical, parts can be found anywhere & so do their mechanics. U dont need the head foreman to come to where u have ur breakdown, Just about any "chottu" of a garage can fix it at least till u reach ur next stop. Also I feel Its just the right size & (agree or disagree) for its price, Its a comfort!
BUT
What I now want is a 4X4 bolero with front & rear diff lock option. & should have a roll cage built within & in its heart, one of the mhawk engines but with 200+bhp.
And as to the everlasting debate of the bolero not beeing a jeep, the bolero owes its very Existence to the ARMADA, "The soul of a car, the Heart of Jeep!!

Cheers

Some pictures of my Bolero!

Its a DI 2WD High-Roof variant with leaf springs on all 4 wheels! No Powersteering; just an AC. Completed one year last month; 17000 kilometers! The last picture is me taking part in the Blind Man's Association Rally- 2014!

From Wayanad, Kerala to the North and North east, covering Bangladesh and Bhutan. The Bolero is fitted with solar panels, and they don't intend to stay in any hotels, but rather cook, eat and sleep in the vehicle itself: Conserve energy being the message.
Hats off to the gentlemen.
