A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles

You have to watch it.
But what's the point? I won't understand a single word!
I saw it in the theatre. Didn't understand a word but loved it. It's the ultimate filmy film.

I thought Gautam was crazy. But he's normally crazy. But the prospect of seeing Rajinikanth in a Tamil movie that I would not understand was not one I was looking forward to.

Until last week. I recieved a copy of Sivaji - The Boss with English subtitles. What ensued was the most mayhem and fun-filled 3 hours of my life.

What drove me really mad were the songs. They were beyond all comprehension for me and I stared open-mouthed the first time, laughing the second and finally by the 4th time, I was an addict.

I offer you now a YetiŽ point-of-view - stories built around the songs of Sivaji. It is comically disrespectful, irreverant and humourous - a mixture of some badly translated subtitles and hilarious settings around the songs. Those of you that may not see this movie will enjoy it even more. It is not in chronological order.

I mean to offend no one, especially not my brothers and sisters in Chennai who I hope will laugh with me at the story, considering it as entertainment.

Here we go...

Black? Or White?

NOTE: I am neither exaggerating nor concocting stories from the movie. The subtitles are as I have seen and I have not altered them in any way, presenting them to you as simple screenshots. All the scenes you see are genuine and can be found in the movie.

-----------------------------------------------------------

It's not cool to be dark-skinned is the message of this powerful movie from the south. Umm what???

Totally uncool. Only Sivaji can be both dark and cool. Or as he likes to say:

Khool.

Our story begins when the hero's parents are trying to arrange a marriage at the police station. Our hero has been arrested for impersonating a government officer. Might as well attemp to marry while he's there. A dark deed indeed.

He asks his mother fondly:

What a dastardly thing to do Mom! But Mama dearest has a genuine reason.

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-19_l.jpg

It all makes sense now. But the girl? The girl??

We don't know you well enough as a family.

Our heroes family visits the girl's. Know us better then! But they aren't let in! Stay away from us you weirdos.
AHA! Here comes the friendly neighbour. Come, get to know us better. I have not one but TWO daughters. TWINS!

Alas but:

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-20_l.jpg

Roasted you say? A cannibal tamilan? No not for the eating. I merely discuss their complexion.

Uncle, much as I'd want to enjoy this situation, my heart belongs to my fair lady yonder.

But what goes around comes around.

I cannot marry you.

Reject our Hero? Unthinkable!! Why in heaven's name...

A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-21_l.jpg
We don't match.

And I always thought we matched the other side of our hands, lol.

The Hero's uncle is ENRAGED. How dare she!!??
A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-22_l.jpg
What 2 things??
A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-23_l.jpg
Oh. OK then. But Chastity begins at home. And Obama is dark too!

There is a however - third thing we must never discuss.

That ridiculous shirt under his jacket. This must never be brought up.

Sivaji analyses the situation khool-ly.
A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-24_l.jpg

Every problem has a solution. There is light at the end of this dark tunnel.

Simble.
A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-25_l.jpg

The story continues.

The efforts of love

The analysis needs to be translated into action.

A large quantity of Fair and Lovely is ordered.
A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-26_l.jpg

Bleach is added to the concoction.
A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-27_l.jpg

Ah the magic of naturopathy...
A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-28_l.jpg

Nothing that some cream and a hair dryer won't fix!
A YetiŽ POV - A funny look at Sivaji with Subtitles-picture-29_l.jpg

The deed is done. Dirt cheap.

Our hero storms into the young ladies life with renewed vigour and a blindingly white complexion. He needs sunglasses or he will blind himself in the mirror!!

Well?? What do you think?

And thus begins the song. This was merely the lead up to the song. Now you guys are really getting what's coming to you!

Thats Khool!
But, if other members use this thread to ridicule Rajnikanth, you're going to be the reason for it.
I don't think you intend to us. But, down here, Rajnikanth is a Religion. Might sound weird, but we have 35-40 year olds on this very forum who are die hard fans of Thalaivar
It wouldn't be nice of Sam Kapasi to upset us, directly or indirectly.

All the scenes posted above are the comedy parts of the movie. It WAS INTENDED to be hilarious, by the director.

Me, I am not a fan of Rajini, but from the little of what i have seen, the first half of all of his movies are a riot. He is a natural comedian. And one more thing, colour of skin is a big bias here in TN. Not much now, but still is.
