I'm a watchaholic!!

Now that I'm over the initial shock of not having seen this thread before, here's my offering

I've been crazy about watches for as long as I can remember and still have most of the watches from my childhood (Not Pictured) Almost all the watches seen here have some story or the other behind them. But I'll save that for another time. I have this itch that prevents me from wearing a watch stock if I can help it. So most of the watches will be on a different strap than original.

I also love to have watches that are different from each other and have some character of their own. I hope you guys enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed taking them. If you'd like to see more, look me up on instagram. I'm sir.clicksalot there.

Not seen here are my Seiko SNZF17 'Sea Urchin' and HMT Pilot. Both of them are on their way and should be here in a week. My father in law is the GM of HMT's Production wing in Ernakulam. The Pilot and a former Janata were procured through his contacts.

Wow, that's a very nice collection. I just loved that Eco-drive.
Also you mentioned, you got a case replaced by fossil, was there any issue with the original one.

re: Which watch do you own?

Thanks!

The Fossil survived 11 years and picked up a few small scratches along the way. Not too bad or unwearable by any measure, but when I called fossil about getting the seals replaced, I checked and they said they can get me a replacement case as well. Couldn't resist.

I've always had a soft spot for Fossils even though they are primarily fashion watches. Try getting a replacement part for a 10+ year old fashion watch and more often than not, you'd be disappointed. But not with Fossil.

Guys, are there any exchange offers running for Titan watches, at the Titan world stores or online?

If you are interested in the more high end watches you might consider downloading the app Watchville. Daily update and reviews of everything that is happening in the world of watches. Incredibly interesting and useful i find.
Enjoy

re: Which watch do you own?

Planning to go to Doha, Qatar next month & was wondering if watches there would be slightly cheaper than in Mumbai? I have my eyes set on the Seiko Sportura series & today i also liked 1 Victorinox watch at the Helios store. I bet there must be more variety at one of these stores in Doha than at Helios.

I was in Doha a few months ago, my impression was that watches, by and large, were more expensive then in India. But it might vary a bit of course from brand to brand, exchange rate etc.

I find the prices of most watches reasonable in India. As I travel frequently to Europe I can buy tax free in Europe and that is usually even slightly better then the best price I get in India. I've been to HongKong a few months ago, prices were more expensive. Im off to Singapore in a few months, will be interesting to see whats available at what price there too.

I have good experience with Helios. If you have your eye on a particular watch they can often get it for you within days if not in stock in the shop.
Good luck

Not too much into real high-end watches, but the app is really interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Re: I'm a watchaholic!!

It is heartening to see that the HMT Janata and the HMT Pilot and the Seiko Sea Urchin, despite being cheaper watches, still exude their own charm amongst the Seamasters and the Rolexes. Just what I feel.

The watch bug has hit me in last few months. Had never really been serious on watches, but now it is different. Just bought this yesterday and I saw this thread today! :-)
