Ferrari chase... ends in tragedy

Check out the links below (incl. pics)

Since they are in Swedish, let me re-phrase the story in English. Two Ferraris were racing each other. Got spotted by cops. Cops chased them. Cops tried to stop them. The Ferraris kept avoiding. In the end, the cops were forced to use tough means and pushed one of the Ferraris into the guardrail as you can see in the pics.

Just one question. how the heck did they manage to catch up with the Ferraris'?

Road block? or maybe they used spike strips or maybe they own 500 bhp police cars. lol

It's not a problem catching upto them on regular streets with traffic. That TC volvo seems to be one quick car though!

Well a bit of all. Spike strips were used but didn't work, cops dont have 500 hp cars but they do have the famed V70TR estates... good for 300hp.

But the biggest weapon of any 1st world police force... An eye in the sky. The Police Chopper. Co-ordination becomes so easy with it, you can stop any evading vehicle.

There are some police cars that are around 400 bhp. I guess these are special cars for pursuits and stuff. These can be Ferrari's too.

Anyways, was anyone killed in the event??

Not sure, but Dodge Viper was going to be used by police in US. May be they have something similar in Sweden too.

Ooh!! bad, very bad, they should have listened to those cops and it would have been better to get a speeding ticket than to get busted like that.

In a crowded road, people make way for a police car, not always for a Ferrari - giving them time to catch up

Viper is not used in the US. CHP (California Highway Patrol) uses Mustangs and Camaro V8s. That's about the fastest they get.

Its sad to know that such people think they can get away from the law. However Police is not far behind. They use choppers, road blocks, spike strips and their powerful cars like Corvette and in Italy the Gallardo which will be able to catch up with a Ferrari

Whats the point??! The Police cars can catch them at the next traffic jam, simple as that.

Didn't the same thing happen here in Mumbai too?! I think the cops were in pursuit of Spiderman's 360 or 355 and kept the car in their custody for a day because of rash driving. I think the news came in the papers too.
