Great news! (although a bit old.. but new to me)
t-bhp can (and must) start expanding into other auto-related stuff too.. and become a full fledged auto portal of India.

Particularly, I find a carpooling section and an online shop (of car accessories) missing. A cars-only shop (that sells polish to turbochargers) will be great!

Also.. is there any sub-forum / thread where I can post my unsolicited suggestions??

How about a checkbox on the upload images tab.

[] Watermark all the images.

and do it automatically.

We already have watermark on pictures uploaded on Team-Bhp.

You mean a check box for the type of water mark done on scoop images?

I mean on the manage attachments page.
In the additional options seen in the Advanced posting option.

I am having two questions.

1) This is regarding no. of smilies. Suppose I quote somebody's post and in that the other person has used smilies and it comes in the content what I have quoted. And then I use two smilies I am allowed to use at the most. So in all I will be having more than two smilies in my post. May be three and sometimes four. But I have used only two in the content I have posted.
Now will this attract an infraction if my post has more than two similies overall including quotes ?

2) Can a senior bhpian start a thread in " Introduce yourself " to introduce himself ?

1) No, as long as you have used only 2 smilies, its fine.

2) Why not

How about putting the date of post in the posts. One never knows how old the post is!

Look at the left corner of the post, it gives you the time and date of when the post was made.

Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians-posttime.jpg

The date and time for every post are present on the top left corner of the individual post window.

EDIT: Benb beat me to this!

Maintaining any forum is a tough tough task, and as a moderator on pagalguy I can vouch for that.

And for various reasons mods ban members, either temporarily or permanently. And at the same time other members would at times want to know why that particular member was banned, say if he's a close friend etc.

We have a thread on Pagalguy "Banned on PG ? Why ??" Why not we have a similar concept here ?

can we have a general Show off forum? ( right now , we just have one for ICE and a thread for alloy wheels) where one can post pics of one's new show off worthy stuff ? - New cars, a new CAI or exhaust , new bulbs etc where there is not much technical relevance for a little ego stroking

I second that. This will educate the existing members on what not to post.

Tell us about it . We could write a book on the subject!

This would certainly ease the pressure of us. However, we have to realise that some members have been banned for not-so-honourable reasons. In that situation, it is best to ban a member without publicising the reason. This is in the banned members interest.

How about posting in the modifications section, the "show your alloy wheels" thread or the BHP Garage itself?

New thread topic which is already posted is closed by Mods but I feel it should be merged with the existing one otherwise the member who has started again has to post the query in that thread which many people may not answer guessing already read/answered.

Thanks. Mod activity stats do indicate that more threads are merged than closed (like 8:1 ratio). However, when we feel that more than one thread is relevant, we'll close and ask the member to search.
