Dont kno if others face this problem.

But the links in the mails I get for the subscribed threads don't take me to the post for which the link is actually mentioned.

Its a very erratic thing. Sometimes I do end up on the correct page and sometimes on some page 7 of 17 total.

mail ids on a public forum is a bad idea. Attracts spammers

BHP needs to flex it's muscle

How many members do we have?

3000, 4000, 5000? And growing.

Each a serious car lover.
Knowlegeable, passionate and well informed.
Many with definite views, great insights and some serious ideas to extract that extra bit of sex from the car.
Most of all well meaning and approachable and honest.

I believe that there is some serious public opinion moulding potential here.

I not kidding. I guess Team BHP needs to transcend the fun and games bit and start leveraging the strong car lover's forum it actually is.

Reporters can be bought, so can magazines and god knows how car companies wine dine, 69 these guys to get a good report.

But an independent voluntary and on-line body whose love for cars will stand the test of all temptation? Precious.

Team BHP can be the unbaised, non aligned final word on all that is auto which it actually is.

A forum customers can turn too for independent and diverse opinions on a whole host of issues from which car to buy, where to get good service to how to improve engine performace to where to get the best car upholstry and yes how to clean the floor mats (a topic on which my friend Rudra wrote I think a brilliant piece. I don't think you can get such info anywhere else in the world). Etc. Etc.

There's sure a whole of collective power here that can be tapped for the general well being of the Indian Car lover.

Think about it guys. The possibilities are endless.

Nachu, a good start with a potential good thought.
What exactly do you suggest? You being a marketing person, need to chalk out the initial strategy (unless you have a complete game plan).

Otherwise, I see a lot of comments without anything concrete coming up.

Another way (if you have nothing fix) throw some of your ideas along with some questions or points you want to add.

If you think I'm making any sense..take it from there..

Team-BHP - taking up causes

Carrying forward Nachu's thoughts on Team-BHP. We could also take up issues that any of us could be facing - like with Varun Roy.

Imagine 5000 mails to Tata's customer service demanding an explaination on their service. Any company worth it's salt would know that they are going to have hell of a lot of adverse publicity for not doing something they should have. The company would know that the issue is not hidden away, and that people are aware of what's happening. And we dont even need to be aggressive here - just a simple, polite mail - coupled with a serious number of mails could do the trick.

This thought also comes from personal experience with my own Sumo. I was having issues, and was trying to get the regional Customer Service person - but no amount of calling on his cell got him on the phone. It was always something or other.

After seeing lots and lots of threads on What cars with unclear priorities, wishes and preferences and every other thread turning in to a boxing ring, i was thinking how this can be improved.

My idea is like in Market section, have a template for What car section too. This template should have detailed questioniare on the buyer's needs, choice, priorities etc. This may not be a perfect solution, but could be a partial remedy to the problem we have at hand.

Team BHP telephone directory- ur inputs please

Hi Folks,

While going through the traumatic experience that one of the BHPians had yesterday (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/buckle...=1#post258698), a thought struck me.

Would it not be a good idea to have a team BHP telephone directory city wise.

This can be a link on the website and whoever wants can take a printout.

It could prove to be a life saver in times of crisis.

Please give your inputs

Good suggestion!
But we need to ensure that only BHPians have the access.
Mods, is it possible?

Himanshu it's a good idea but phone numbers are personal information and could cause a lot of issues if the list goes into wrong hands. It can be grossly misused. But yes if we can something with access only to T-BHPians then we could think about it.

How about the Mods having these numbers.
I know you guys are already doing a lot to keep this forum at this level. Do you think you could be the city-wise POCs also ?

I would think that we should also get a thread where we can list current profesions and future plans if any for work change it'll be cool to know n take alist of print outs of guys in good positions who can help make things work if we ever decide to come up with different marketing strategies
