Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

I come across alot of people who tell me that they have been trying hard to register themselves into TBhp but their request is rejected. I understand the need to keep the community strong and resourcesfull rather than having more members. I have seen the worlds largest biking community losing its way due similar factors.

However, there can be hybrid approach where you give members different levels of membership and there by control the content and usefulness of the thread but also give access to everyone who is interested. Maybe they are not good at writing a self introduction paragraph but overtime can become a contributing member of the community.

Ex: IMDB has two membership levels.
Entry Level - Critic
Senior Level - Metacritic

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Attn: All KASPERSKY users who were facing the IMAGE LOADING PROBLEM:

An automatic update from Kaspersky 2012 released at the beginning of the month should have fixed this.

Here's what you need to do to ensure it takes effect:
1) Ensure your databases are "up to date"
2) Restart your computer
3) Clear your browser cache
4) Remove *.team-bhp.com/* from the "Settings > web-antivirus > settings > trusted-urls" list (if you had added it earlier)
This should get you running just like you were before, and remove the small risk you're taking at the moment by adding Team-BHP to the trusted URLs list.

Let me know if that works.

Cheers,
R

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Hi

Wanted to check if we have a ICE setup among BHPians city wise which would contain some basic info like name, location ( which part of city) and contact no. It would be really helpful to reach out to the brotherhood incase of any emergency help required.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

I have noticed that I get a "You have been quoted" PM when I am online and someone who quoted me is still writing the post. It would be better to get the 'quoted' PM after the post has gone live. This is because many times the poster does not finally save the post I get a false alarm about the quote!

Are you sure about this? I don't believe this happens.
There are a few "You have been quoted" PMs that I get and I can't find the post. But that's because the OP is a newbie and the post is waiting for the moderator's OK.

Please check if this is the same scenario that you are talking about.

In the Thread tools drop down menu, can we have an unsubscribe from this thread option or change notification prference?
else you have to go to user cp - list subscriptions - select the thread - select delete subscription / change notification preference and then click go.

I am reasonably sure. This has happened about 3-4 times for me. And the posters had senior BHPians among them.

Do see my post above about updating Kaspersky. Try that as well.

Thats because we host images for Review threads in a different way that other threads. Once again, this is the Kaspersky problem behaviour.

Let me know after you try the above update.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Has the style "BHP Red" (or standard red) been removed? I need something that keeps most of the screen in white. Red, blue green, anything will work.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Hi!

I use the BHP-Silver skin, but the pages are being rendered in Black. I'm using Firefox 18.0.2.

Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians-bhpsilver.jpg

I've tried the usual tricks like logging out & in again, clearing cookies, temp internet files, new browser window etc without any luck. Any clue how to resolve this?

Cheers,
Vikram

Yes, Please bring back the red. It's nice that T-BHP gives a choice at all, most forums I frequent do not. Whatever, I'll get used to it ...but red theblack/silver just don't work so well for me.

I had the blue. Now the only options are silver and black! Please get our favourite colours back.

Cheers!
