How do you track interested threads/forums in TBHP?

TBHPians,
I know that day-by-day there are so many posts & threads being added and you also would have created your own threads to pool.

what are steps you follow to track ALL of them (the ones you created looking for answers, ones you are interested to just read, some to reply occationally, some you reply constantly, etc)?

I do it this way:
  1. "Today's Posts" is very good feature, I use this to track latest replies [@Mods: Suggestion here, why not give a link to take us directly to latest post? I need to go to last page and scroll down]
  2. Add interested threads to favourites folder in browser and frequently go to those threads from favourites (in case if I haven't browsed TBHP any day and had missed "Today's posts" for that day, favourites is helpful)
  3. "View first unread" option doesn't take me to correct post mostly - guess I should have clicked 'Mark as read" option everytime
  4. When both #1 & #2 are done and if I have sometime for the day , then go to each forum and look for interesting threads and add to list of threads in favourites to be tracked .
  5. I haven't used 'subscribe to threads' feature yet, I didn't want to receive email notifications (though it has an option 'don't send emails', I didn't know how to make use of this subscription feature)
I am sure the folks who are members for many years can explain good practises to follow to make the whole process efficient and effective!

Sathya you can also use "Subscribe to this thread" under thread tools. You can get instant email notification as and when there is a reply on your subscribed thread.

@sathya.. this is what i do, apart from checking today's posts, i also check my last 25 replies in threads to continue the discussion. This can be done by clicking on your name & selecting find more posts by the user. this will ensure you do not miss out on continuing a recent discussion.

In the same way you can search for the threads started by you also.
cheers

How abt remote alerts?

If a thread that I'm interested in (selection criteria-checkbox) gets replied to (triggers - selection from options such as Replied, Deleted, Moved etc), I get notified by SMS (having saved my cell no. earlier).

If such a feature cannot be free, I still wouldnt mind bearing the cost of the SMS.

Im not sure the software supports that at the moment, however, it would probably be easier to rigg up your cellphone to check your email (and use the method of subscribing to threads)

Not sure if it was discussed before. Can we have some kind of template while filling TD report and long term ownership report?

The template will have many factors/parameters to fill like engine, gear box, interiors, ICE, etc. It is easy to fill them, so that folks won't miss anything.

There can be few questions as well like did you take it for short/long drive? What levels did you keep AC? etc

This will be just guideline and the user may be able to delete the whole template and fill in his own format (like it is currently).

Fantastic idea, sathya! Thanks for putting it up. We (Support Team) are discussing this and you can expect a result soon.

One thing that we must keep in mind is to minimise the input boxes since too many will only dissuade reviewers.

hi mods and gods of Team-bhp.com,...

I did not find a way to search for what I wanted to say on this thread. So fogive me if this is a repeat request.

Why dont you ask your domain manager to make this website available as both "www.team-bhp.com" as well as "team-bhp.com"

my question is related to the way your domain name gets requested from the address bar of a browser.

on the other hand,... you guys doing a great job!!!
