While we take our site on maintenance, an approximate time frame of update completion would be of much help. Something like

"We will be back on or before at xx.xx hrs"

Not happen overnight? How about if its been happening for the last few years?

Also, if you look at any members profile, they have fields for their MSN, Yahoo, Skype etc etc IDs.

Well, the problem wasnt my computer as i got the problem on different computers but checking the "remember me" box while signing in does seem to have done the trick. I wonder why this happened recently even though ive been on bhp since a while now.

In any case, thank you for the help and cheers to you and the mods for this wonderful forum and all the help

I think it was a good move to eliminate the comments section in the classifieds.
Totally unwanted remarks by self proclaimed 'experts' would often lead to unpleasant discussions.

Almost all sellers put their contact details like no. or email ID.
If they do not, it's their loss
Any potential buyer seriously considering the item would not hesitate to call or send an e-mail.

Posting a comment or sending a PM involves the same effort . .
Instead of writing in the comment box, u write in the PM box and click on 'send' instead of 'post' !
In fact, some sellers who do not log onto Team-BHP regularly, have a higher chance of reading and responding to your query if e-mailed rather than 'commented', ain't it ?!

Cheers - keep it up.

Comments on classified stopped?

I was just wondering why the comments on classified has been stopped.
Is it only me who's facing the problem or its actually gone?

Comments on classified seriously helped fellow BHPians to look at the items for sale from a different perspective after some comments by gurus on the same. Be it pricing or quality of the item.

If we could embed maps into our posts.

If I paste a url from say wikimapia.org
Then it becomes a small applet of say 3 inches by 8 inches wide and displays the location.

i was just wondering, jus like one gets a pop up message about a PM when you sign in, can we have something like that for a new comment in your garage ?

I agree, but some ads badly need comments to prevent buyers from being fooled.

There is an ad currently in the SUV section for a 2008 Pajero, and the asking price is 22lacs.

The current price for a new pajero is around 20 lacs.
Maybe the seller doesn't know HM reduced prices last year, and has based his price on his buying price...

Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

I have been observing on TBHP that either the threads are not rated at all or they are rated 5 star. Why do TBHPians have this digital behaviour (0 or 1)? Is the rating system flawed (no offence meant to mods)? It says 1 or 2 stars means it is a bad thread. Are we too lazy to rate threads other than ones worthy of 5 stars? It would save so much time for fellow BHPians if threads are rated 1, 2, 3 as well. We would know our search is not finished yet.

Or another fundamental question - do we need to have a rating? Isn't the number of views and responses posted enough to tell (along with the title) that how good the thread is?

Let your views come in.

Mods: Please let me know if the thread I am starting is blasphemous.

An email is sent out to you whenever your BHP Garage gets a new comment.

I just read the last few pages of this thread (i.e. the starting ones). I must commend the full support team for their dedication! The site has changed tremendously since day one. I see an old post asking mods to put in more smileys, etc...

BTW: sonata ads still on the banner.

How about one of them pop up messages when a user closes the T-bhp window.

Just saying something in the line of your stickers .

"Thank you for visiting T-Bhp,Drive safe and remember to always wear your seat belt". This may sound cheesy to have , but i reckon it will pass on the seriousness of T-bhp towards promoting itself as a valuable and sensible forum.
