Well, thats because the "home page search" is powered by Google - who are at the top of their game when it comes to internet search - therefore probably smarter in terms of relevance.
Vbulletin search is more all-encompassing and is a more powerful tool if you know exactly what thread/post you're searching for.
Both have their advantages.

FYI - vBull search does have a "sort by relevance" option - though google will probably still be a bit smarter.

I believe the earlier answer was :
- Some browsers have this functionality built in
- Other browsers allow "add-ons" which can add this functionality

Suggest you check out the above options as an auto-refresh functionality is unlikely to be introduced for the forum.

Ever heard of a Ferrari going for discounts

No, we don't have any discounts (current or planned) on merchandise.

In the Classifieds section, I see ads which have been closed. Can we have a feature where the ads marked as Closed are not available in the default viewing? Or add filtering which will allow users to disable showing SOLD ads?

Can we have a chat system enabled? Say like the google talk or Yahoo messenger? Sometimes, exchanging notes and info via PM is cumbersome especially when both are online.

Also I notice some pictures uploaded on the server have the " Hosted on teambhp.com. Copy right respective owners" watermarked on the extreme bottom left of the photo. While others don't have any water marks on them?

For a comparo, see the link provided, the pics have no watermarks whatsoever,

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/street...takes-hit.html

While the pics posted a few posts back by wildon (post # 2928) has the water mark of tbhp on the extreme left. Someone please explain

The watermark of T-BHP appears on the images which are of 800*600 resolution or less. anything above this, the watermark will appear when you open the larger image!

As mentioned earlier - we have a new classifieds section in the pipeline which should resolve a lot of issues members are currently having with the TBHP Classifieds.

This has been decided against in the past.
Search for "chat" in this thread and you will see several similar requests as well as replies to those requests.

Pulsar56 has explained this. One additional point : older pics (before we started hosting pictures on our server itself) or new pictures uploaded incorrectly (externally hosted + using the IMG tags) will not have any watermark.

Many times it has happened that we need to reuse a image which has already been hosted on T-BHP; but as a member will not be able to see how this can be done; (Rather what i have done is re-upload the same picture knowing that this kind of pic has already been uploaded by another member)

In short ; reuse a pic which has been uploaded on the server ; than unnecessarily uploading it with n copies of the same pic (eg. WagonR pic from the suzuki.jp site.)

When we are composing a message i do see a number eg.[ATTACH]3xxxxx[]
Are we able to reuse it?

P.S. Nothing crucial but thought it would reduce the overhead on the server.

In such a case, I simply use the built-in [IMG] tag and provide the link to the image uploaded on team-bhp server. This way you are rendering the image which is already on the server.

For example, if I had to insert an image I used earlier, this is how I would do it.

If you quote this post, you should be able to see how it looks like.

That one is a good idea;I somehow never opened the pics in a new tab; hence would have noticed it.

OT: Ritzzy looks good.

Add to that, if its a thumbnailed image (ie with black bar at the bottom) you can insert Gandhi's example of [ img ] tag within a [ url ] tag pointing to the full size image, so it becomes clickable.

Bad-ish Example :

Multiple Image Upload

Hi Mods,

I know this would have been asked by other BHPians, but still, Can we have a Multiple Image Upload Option ? Its very time consuming to upload pictures one by one .

The amount of honest feedback in this thread:
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ghlight=owners

prompted me to start these two threads (since i have a honda and recently bought an i10 as well):

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ghlight=owners

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ghlight=owners

I was hoping car owners from other manufacturers will pitch in and start similar threads. Since that has not happened, can someone from the moderator team take this initiative? Every time someone has a bad experience with a service center, he/she starts a new thread. This set of threads can be a one place stop for each manufacturer. New car buyers will also be able to refer to these threads and find out how good or bad the service experience of owners has been.

I think you can upload 10 images at a time, but yea that would require you to select picture each time. I guess you are looking for a way to select 10 pics and upload in one go.
Unfortunately, vbulletin software does not support that.
