Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

is the pm when quoted option active?
Many thanks if so, really wanted that and appreciate the Mods efforts to put into use many of the suggestions put forward by Bhpians.
Its this way of going about things that makes Team BHP so special.
Its not some forum where we discuss things. Its OUR forum.
Kudos to the MOD team and ofcourse GTO!
Thanks for making Team-BHP what it is.

Is team-bhp come up with a Auto magazine?

Is this a good idea that our own TEAM-BHP come up with a Auto Magazine?

Here we have enough of knowledge base anything related to automobile even aeroplane, big ship etc.

Some other popular auto journals / auto websites(Don't want to name it) copy article from T-BHP and took the credit.
Even some of my query regarding Getz performance were copied by another website (Can not remember the name right now).

So why not we have our own journal / magazine ?
Even today some of us like to check the magazine stall for a new auto magazine.

Note from Team-BHP Support: Discussion moved to this thread. Please post all the suggestions for Team-BHP here. Thanks

IMO it would be like going one step back. I mean printed magazine/journal is a old way of spreading knowledge, today its the internet.
By the way why one should pay for auto related info when you get it for free here on T-BHP?

Thats a great idea, even the same was itching inside me.
Other magazines may run out of the business once T-BHP magazine gives an entry.

But, none of us wanted to see a T-BHP mag leaf wrapping a 'bhajji, 'bonda' or 'vada pav' (believe me, I got a 'vada pav' wrapped with a leading auto mag leaf at Mumbai 6 months back)

Re: Is team-bhp come up with a Auto magazine?

If we can add a wiki feature to t-bhp it would be awesome. All facts and figures, related test drives all on one page for one car or brand. Magazines are passé, web 2.0 is the way to go!!

What's the point of having a magazine? Any article in a magazine will be a static one. However all reviews in the forum are dynamic. Content keeps getting added on a regular basis to a particular review which is the strong point of the community.

Agreed

But still INTERNET is not available everywhere in India or costly in comparison to other parts of India. Still there is a major chunk of our population not friendly with INTERNET.

In this situation people like to spend on print media. Print media can easily available in any part of the country. We can never ignore the print media.

Even today, many news paper available on line. Still we need the printed news paper to start our day.

I had suggested same a couple of months back but it was turned down by mods. Actually now I realize there is no benefit of offline team-bhp. I am happy with online team-bhp.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Hi guys,

A quick and small suggestion:

The point of the "thanks" button is to thank someone instead of typing it down. I'm seeing people thanking others by clicking on the button as well as quoting and thanking by typing as well. Kind of moots the whole point of having this feature doesn't it?

This is mainly for whom those are not using Internet.
They are also eligible for unbiased review / comments.
Even today we still believe / choose print media.

As GTO said a couple of pages back, having a magazine would be taking a step back in time. Content that was earlier printed is now moving online, not the other way round. T-BHP is what it has been made by its online members, car magazines are something else, taking T-BHP to a magazine would be like trying to fit 'a square peg in a round hole'.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Kalinga,

Why would we want to take a step back? Heck, releasing a Team-BHP Magazine would be akin to moving from common-rail turbo diesels to IDI! We're just really happy doing what we do online.

And on reach, get this : All the Indian car mags together would probably have a circulation of 100,000 copies. Or a little over. On the other hand:

- India has 100 million (That's 10 crore) internet users (PC & Laptop category).

- And another 40 million internet users (Mobile & smartphone category).

While internet penetration is admittedly very low in India, nevertheless we are already the world's No. 3 Internet user.

Also, automobile enthusiasts are from the well-to-do section of our society, and internet penetration among that strata is much much higher than the overall penetration.

it's basically a thread that has important or useful info which will always be at the top of that forum or subforum irrespective of when a last post was made to it. It a "sticky" thread.
