Vina,

Can you reconfirm that you have switched it off, and yet received a PM for this post of mine? Can you please post a screen grab of the PM as well?

Thanks!

As previously mentioned, I found the option on User Control Panel some time back, and set it to No. I was surprised to get a You-have-been-quoted PM today.

I'll let you know if this post results in one.

@GTO- I think there is still an issue. I have updated my "Edit Options" more than once (it is still showing "No") but I continue to receive the PMs from Admin.

i have not (at leat, not so far!) had notice of that quote.

Unless the system is sensible enough not to tell people when they quote themselves, that means that the opt-out is now working.

I did try clicking 'apply' again on the UCP.

oh, are we supposed to notify about this?
It's been constant, even after 3-4 checks in settings to confirm that i turned it off.

Not required to post every instance. GTO asked a few members to verify so that they know the problem really exists. I think he's already headed to sort out this issue.

Another minor issue with this feature; if a newbie quotes your post, PM is sent before that post is approved. You get the PM, but can't see the post.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Hey Mods!

I just got a "you've been quoted" PM when somebody thanked me.

Or is it that you get a PM every time someone clicks the 'quote/quote+' button?. What if he/she decides against posting?. You still get the PM?

EDIT:

Just saw NetfreakBombay's post. The person who quoted me is indeed a newbie. So, I guess the "you've been quoted" PM works as I mentioned? If so, we need to find another logic for sending "you've been quoted" PM's.

P.S - I have not found this feature 'that' useful. Not sure about fellow forum members.

official flickr! group for t-bhp

Hi All,

flickr! is the most popular photograph sharing site for photographers and t-bhp is the most popular automotive site in India. Travel and photography go hand in hand. Many of us here are amateur and many are professional photographers.

That said, we definitely need an official t-bhp group on flickr! . I wanted to create one but I though it would be better for the mods to do so. MODS, please help us by doing the same.

Thanks!

P.S. Since there is not thread on this topic, I thought it would be okay to start a thread and get everybody's views on the same.

Good Idea, consider creating sets to have the photos segregated.

Will reply to all the other suggestions later. But just to tackle the pending issue:

Sorted! Please ensure that the option "NO" is selected in your User CP. Then, you shouldn't be receiving any more you've been quoted PMs.

You always have the option of switching the feature off from your user CP

Personally though, I think this feature brings a whole lot of value. It ensures that a post requiring your attention (or just a comment on a post of yours) isn't missed. Very helpful if you participate in multiple sections of the forum. I'm loving it!
