The mysterious 'PM when quoted' seems to have stopped working again. Not receiving PM's when quoted!

But in that case it would display as a search result, with all the latest posts first.

Lets say i was reading a long term review, or a Yeti travelogue which has been written in multiple posts, with comments from other BHPians in between. It would be useful if we could read all posts by the thread starter in continuity, and in chronological order.

Thanks

I think you didn't get me, as you have mentioned 30 parked threads in a section.

What i meant is create a single parked thread in sections like Technical stuff, Modification,Shifting gears. That single parked thread can have links to the best threads in that section.

Example:

Section - Technical stuff
  • Parked threads
  • Disclaimer!
  • Announcements
  • Best threads (This will Contain a single post with links to the best threads In Technical section). The current thread links "Dude I bolted on 25 BHP" FAQ !! & What's that sound ?? can be added to this thread.
  • Unparked or Normal Ones
    • Posts by users
Section - Modification & Accessories
  • Parked Threads
    • Announcement
    • Best Threads (Same as above)
  • Unparked Threads
I hope you guys get what i am trying to tell

If you go to your UserCP, is the setting turned ON?
(Sometimes people change the setting but forget to scroll down all the way and click "SAVE").

Also you could try disabing, saving, re-enabling, saving. And see if that works.

This is odd: I received a PM now when you quoted me, but not when other members have, like Klub_Klass on this very thread earlier today!

Yep the setting is enabled! Haven't changed any settings over the past few days. I'll try disabling then enabling again.

Even I didn't receive a PM notification when you quoted my post last time. After spending few mins, I realized that it's a bug related to the new android app. I'll post more details about this 'bug' in the T-BHP android app thread.

I guess, you quoted me earlier from your android app.

This time I'm replying to your post from PC and you would've got a PM notification(?)

But earlier when I quoted you it was from my computer, not the Android app!

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Hi,
I dont know if this is just my machine.
I use IE8.
If i check a thread from my user CP, and go click the userCP link from the thread, i usually get the same userCP as earlier, ie, the thread is not marked read.
If i refresh the user CP , thats when it goes "read".

PS:i am not using the back button, but the link.

It depends on the structure of the quote.

If it has an arrow like this :

If it does not (eg. quoted via mobile app, or manually written quote tag) :

Thank you for the reply, Rehaan! Appreciate the help!

No clue why that happened. I only used the quote button on my computer, no mobile device involved or I didn't manually write out the tags.

Anyways, it's cool now. I know when I will/won't recieve PM's!

Also, Thanks @Klub_Class for your help buddy!

The Problem can be solved by using the next page tag for sections like reviews and Travelogues , don't know whether its available.

The page would load faster and the reviews would be better, just like the sites gsmarena with various details of the phone in each page.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Just curious, what's the criteria for a particular thread to be listed under the "Hot Threads" on the Portal page? Do you guys bump a thread there or it goes automatically based on no. of views/posts etc.

Secondly, any chance you'd wanna consider adding more cars to the Car image ticker on the right hand corner. (I guess most of the cars belong to the Mods). The variety of cars is limited so probably you could add thumbnails of recent models.
