Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Its a very nice idea to have a thanks button at the bottom for the replies which imparts us with the knowledge, but there are replies which we really LIKE they won't necessarily impart us with any knowledge but in general are good replies. I can't post a comment stating that "DUDE, i really like your comment" because as per the rules, we cant post one liners which doesn't contribute to the thread, So i would like to suggest a 'like' button too.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Hi GTO, (sorry if someone has already suggested this) I just noticed that in the BHP garage section, there is no editing facility for comments I posted. Could that feature be added as an improvement? For eg, I have made a reply with a typo and there seems to be no way to correct it other than to retype the message properly, like we do in IM chats

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

I don't know if its already posted here, but I would like to see an option of posting a poll in a thread just like any other post.

For example, In my ownership thread, I wanted the opinion of fellow bhpians for a modification on my car.
In the present scenario its not possible once I have started the thread.
If we get this option we can have many polls for different topics.
An ownership thread can't have the same poll throughout the life of the thread.

Of course, it might result in too many polls and difficult to track.

But we should have some conditions to post a poll something like:
1. any older poll on the same thread must be closed before posting a new poll
2. one can start a poll only on a thread that he/she has started.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Mods,
Is there a possibility of having an option of saving half done posts (as a part of Assembly section) that can be edited & posted later?

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Was trying to post a URL on the Accident In India Page - But it automatically gets masked. Had to space out the domain to make it appear. Is it a new safety feature on the forum?? Haven't experienced such a thing so far!

Hi Warwithwheels,

You'll find your answer below :

Most of the time, the member understands and does not post the link again.

However, in some cases, members continue to publicize their website all over the forum, despite previous warning(s) - in which case, those particular websites will be blacklisted on Team-BHP.

Blacklisted websites show up as www.*********.com.
Naturally, this also includes some URL cloaking / shortening sites.

Cheers,

The MapmyIndia ad is fooling around with the Search and Quick Links buttons again. It seems to have a "Always on Top" kinda setting.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Couldn't find out if this was already posted.

General BULK communications are sent out for identifying certain features or aspects of the forum.

Similarly, can we have the BULK communication going out to all so that any (and only for this) New Official Review is communicated to all and we do not have to keep on refreshing the New Topics search to check upon the same?

Thanks.

Thanks Parsh. This is something which I also requested a few months back. It will be helpful for most of us who are on the lookout for official reviews of new launches.

Agree with you. This or a scrolling notification I had suggested some time back would serve the purpose.

All official reviews are instantly featured in the Hot threads section on the home page as soon as they go live. However that mass pm idea sounds good for people who don't visit Tbhp often.

One still has to keep clicking the "New Topics" or "Portal" to find out. A scrolling notification on every page can equally serve the purpose of a mass PM plus letting a guest user also know about it. Further, mass PM's can add to the server load and some users may get bugged with unsolicited PMs.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

The "delete this message" instruction when a PM arrives is something that has me in splits everytime.

That's six times the same phrase is used! Belabouring the point, perhaps? Is it a feature of the portal software or can it be customised?

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

This is actually a query and not a suggestion.

It is mentioned under "Assembly Line" announcements (http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/assemb...ion-about.html) that "After your thread has been taken public, you are permitted to bump it up once to bring it amongst the new post listings."

Can someone tell me whether this "bumping up" of the new thread that has been shifted from Assembly Line can be done by the thread-starter (If so, how?) or one has to approach mods for it?

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

While searching for teambhp on google, I wonder why the word 'Forum' is now replaced by a weird word "Nischint"??
