Issue faced while opening website

Guys,

Am facing a typical problem. Whenever i am opening any page of tbhp, my whole system slows down to the extent that i have to hardboot it.

Most of the times, i get an error message of " A script on this page is causing internet explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive"

This is not happening on any other site. Previously i was using IE ver 6 and thought that it might be due to a old version, so upgraded to Ver.8. But still the problem persists.

Pls help as am not able to view all posts since the last 3-4 days.

A screen shot of the error message is attached.

Slideshow feature for travelogues possible?

Over last few days, several travelogues with beautiful photographs have come up
in team bhp.

Scrolling a page to view next photographs so that the next photo neatly fits on
the screen takes away some of the fun of watching the photos. It will be quite
more enjoyable to see the photos one after another.

At the same time one would not like to miss the annotations above or below the
photo.

Do not know technically what options are feasible. May be these could be
evaluated:

1. Slideshow feature with a link on the post that contains photos. (But what
about annotations if present. Annotations will have to be explicitly attached
to the photographs, may be during loading so that the system knows which text
to show as annotation.)

2. Slightly 'lo-tech', may be a link that can help shift pages such that the
photographs don't get cut during scrolling and appear fully on one page.
Instead of PageDown/DownArrow/MouseScroll, one may use this mechanism to scroll
through the thread.

Thoughts?

Mayuresh.

In last couple of days, I'm not getting the notification when someone quotes my post. Anyone else facing this problem?

May be they are quoting you from the Mobile App. Or atleast that's what I did Here
Am sure you are aware of the significance of the red tag besides the handle!

Oh. Didn't know that. That's a bug in the mobile app then.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Below post of mine was posted at 12:05 PM today. But the time lines in that thread is displayed one hour ahead(1:05PM). Any specific reason?
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/shifti...ml#post2710233

Edit: Even this post was at 12:10PM but here it shows as 13:10 PM. Looks like the team-bhp server time is one hour ahead.

Arun, the Team-BHP server might not be hosted out of India. Check your time zone setting in the profile.

It's displaying 12:05 as the time of your post in the stickers thread and 12.10 in this thread.

Check out the Time Zone settings in your UserCP.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

All our timezone setting can do is add or subtract from the forum time.

Same thing was happening on IndiaMike, another VB-based forum, on the day America's DST starts: I guess the forum software is taking its loacl time from the server its running on. Somehow, this did not used to happen...

When I posted this issue there was definitely a one hour difference between the real post time and post time displayed here. However, after couple of hours the time displayed in all the threads went back by one hour and hence it started showing the correct time 12:05 and 12:10 in the posts pointed out by me.

Unfortunately I don't have any screen shot to show this issue now .

Edit: I have never done any changes to my time zone setting. I was able to see this issue only for couple of hours today.
