Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

On the top right corner, would be good to provide hyper link to the handle pointing to the "view profile" url.

Welcome, super.cars. <<< clicking on the handle should take us to profile page

It's high time that there should be character limit for quoting the post to which reply is being given.
Think of it as it will save the precious time of mods greatly.
Also in the official review section, the location for the TD and pics (not necessarily each pic) and ARAI mileage has to be specifically mentioned preferably after "What you don't like" column.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Regarding the personalized TBHP stickers, is it possible that there could be a sticky, or a guideline thread stating why it cannot be done?
Owing to the sheer volume of posts on the sticker thread, the posts relating to this recurring discussion seem to be lost. Every 3-4 months there's a fresh wave of the same discussion as new members come in.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Can we include a bit more safety features highlight in Reviews for a quick glance?

Modified version (actual taken from Maruti S-Cross: Official Review)

What you'll like:
• Solid build & good quality, inside out
• Powerful 1.6L diesel with 320 Nm of torque. Superb mid-range and top-end performance
• Mature ride & handling package. High speed behaviour is exceptional
• Practical interiors, spacious cabin and supportive seats
• Maruti's excellent after-sales support network
• Safety Features
• Solid Build, Built like tank etc
• 4 wheel disc brakes
• ABS (may be version)
• ESP (may be version)
• TC
• Airbags (numbers)
• Child Anchor/ISO FIX/LATCH (this is what I really want)
• Feature loaded: Bi-xenon headlamps, leather seats, cruise control, 7" touchscreen ICE etc.

Its quite difficult to get the details like LATCH/ISO FIX etc even from the sales people. I happened to go to showroom and ask whether the car has LATCH and the sales man was clueless.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Can we have a thread where BHPians can suggest subjects/ideas for New Threads and any interested BHPian could pick up the idea and start a thread?

This thought came to my mind as I have a number of ideas, but I don't either have the time or the writing skill to start the thread.

Thoughts?

Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

OT comment. What is the forums accept to reject ratio for new memberships ? I encounter such sarcasm and spite on social networks from people who didn't make the cut. Was upsetting and unnecessary. I feel this forum is projected as exclusionary and elitist when, in fact, anyone who uses it will argue the opposite.

Background: encountered all this when I casually joined a "Jazz owners group" on Facebook which was suggested on the Jazz review thread as a source for AT ownership pictures and comments.

Re: Maruti S-Cross : Official Review

A thought.

Why doesn't team bhp monetize some of its capability, by offering jam sessions of its readers with marketing departments of car companies?

Benefits:

1- Team bhp can earn some $ by monetizing its capabilities

2- Car companies can make sensible pricing decisions - likelihood of greater success

3- T- Bhp members - satisfaction emanating from a sense of playing their part

4- Buyers - better chance of buying a product they want

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Mods, we have 3 independent threads running in 3 different sections for the same thing - Android Auto. Can these be consolidated and put in a single place?

+1 to mayankk.

Maybe a post could be added to the stickers thread explaining this. Would be easier to direct the future questions than searching for the older posts.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Assume one doesn't search the forum with key words before starting a thread. Now this then becomes duplicate if there was already a thread existing for the same topic.

Suggestion - Now before an user submits a new thread, can the website by itself do the search using key words of the thread heading with the ones in data base and then suggest the new thread to be duplicate if found to be.

As in like a message that throws up "There exists a thread with similar words, do you still wish to continue with the new thread?"

Please do something about the watermark.
Maybe adding an automatic black buffer at the bottom of uploaded pictures, or move the watermark to the top right.
In its current location, it occasionally blocks relevant parts of images.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

We can add star ratings (1-5) for all the listings/reviews in Team-BHP Directory.

A poll with 5 options will do it easily.

Could the mobile app be updated, so that clicking on a tag would redirect to the original tagged post?
Usually only small extracts of posts are tagged, and manually searching for the posts can sometimes be a real pain.
Also, could there be an option to save multiple drafts of different posts? Like a big clipboard? Would be really nice additions.
Also, not really a necessity as such, but still, a material design update for the android app would be incredible, in keeping with Google's latest design guidelines.
And search on the mobile app needs to be fixed as well. Could as well be Google custom search for better results.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

It would not be a bad idea to include a link to the TeamBHP store in the email "Team-BHP Membership APPROVED!" or any other forum for a newbie.

Because it takes a while for the newbie's to realise that there are some excellent TeamBHP merchandise available.

This flipkart issue is still persisting in mobile browsers. Had to reinstall the iOS app because of this glitch. I was happy with mobile browser. Most of the times, it doesn't even ask for that confirmation and just opens up the flipkart app on my phone. Screenshot attached for the prompt that keeps on popping up.
