Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Whenever I reply to a thread and write in multiple paragraphs, I see that the spacing between paragraphs is too much. I have to edit my reply and correct it again. Is this only me or others too have noticed it?

I use Mozilla as my browser.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

I am not sure if this feature is available but it will be a very good feature.

Now, we have Member's list link where we can see the list of all members and their cars in the next column. But, Suppose, I want to see who all have a particular car ? for example, Who all have Santro ? I do not think the current page can help me get this detail

It will be good to develop that feature.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

In threads with lengthy posts (e.g. reviews, travelogues), I sometimes feel the need to jump to the next post. However there's no easy way to do so, save for rapid scrolling and hoping not to miss the header of the subsequent post (especially so on mobile).

Can we have some way of quickly jumping to the next (and maybe previous) post?

Something like this, for instance - an up/down arrow hyperlinklink, next to the post number. Clicking it takes you to the preceding/next post.

Quick hack:

I use the browser's in-built "Find on page" function for this.

CTRL+F (to bring up the find prompt)

# <--- as the text to search for

ENTER to jump to the next post repeatedly

That's a convenient trick, thanks!

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

Can we have custom made TeamBHP stickers for members, please?

Just regular stickers with member name & membership no.

Like - Nav-i-Gator (Member # xx) written below the Got BHP? sticker. Would make it easier to spot other members, considering there are too many fake stickers used around these days.

Good suggestion otherwise but I think it will be too much work at the press. I'm sure Rehaan will agree. Customizing stickers downright at membership level will be a daunting task in itself.

One feature I was thinking of was - Archive. Possibly to save specific posts for ones own referral.

I do understand this could put some constraint on the server resources over time, but, to start with possibly offer options for just 5 (for instance) to archive or possibly a graded number depending on the status - newbie/sr/distinguished/ etc.

Getting wrong videos in a post.

I am getting wrong videos in not deserving posts for past few weeks.

Could Mods please clarify what is causing this?

Screenshots attached as below-

Actually the Nissan Patrol Guiness Record Video is been posted by bhpian volkman10. But I am seeing that video embedded in the post of bhpian mukeshgoel as well. Mukeshgoel had embedded video of Wagon R.

This problem gets solved if I Refresh the page. I.e. the video.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

This is what I had posted in the I20 crash test thread. We know the results of the Swift crash test. It's high time the official review is updated on page#1 of that thread with the crash test result if team BHP is serious about safety. The official review of all the cars should be updated with the crash test result outcome where available.

Quote:
I would suggest that the official reviews be updated with the results of the crash test. 1000s of people, members & non-members, included look into the official review section and if Team-BHP is serious about safety then the official review section should be updated with the outcome of the crash test result. We should have a separate section in the official review for the safety aspect.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

My issue is that whenever I try to rate a thread, I only get the "Excellent" (*****) option. I am using Chrome browser on a Windows desktop.

This was not the case previously. I am not absolutely sure about when this issue started but it has been there for at least 3-4 months.

Has anybody else faced the issue? If yes, then is there a solution?

This was intentional . Similar to posts where we only allow a "thank", but not a downvote or a thumbs up.

If you really like a thread, rate it 5 stars. If not, don't rate it at all.

On the lines of the saying "If you don't have something nice to say, better not to say anything at all".

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

So, I was reading the latest official review of Marazzo and this suggestion came into my mind. Given that we are invited for the official media drive organized by these manufacturers, it shouldn’t be a big deal to include those as well.

To make our official reviews even more comprehensive, it would be great if we start including a picture of the vehicle in all the available colors. According to me, this is the only piece missing from our detailed report. While we can always pull up the brochures online to see how they might look, an actual picture taken by us would be a lot better to understand how the shade looks actually.

Re: Suggestions for Team-BHP from Team-BHPians

An appeal-request to fellow members (Not to the moderators, for a change ).

Can we please avoid leaving threads and posts hanging mid air?

Let me elaborate.

Whenever an enquiry is made or a solution sought through a new thread or a post, a number of people respond and try to help. This is true of all subjects - technical, commercial, mechanical, medical or moral. However, even after long and fruitful exchange of ideas, the OP often fails to update the thread about the utility or otherwise of the solutions offered; leaving the Cause-Effect-Resolution cycle incomplete. As and when another person faces a similar problem, he would have no solved point to start from and will instead have to begin afresh.

For instance, when a route enquiry is made and suggestions offered, is it too much to expect the enquirer to chip in with his own first hand experience after completing the trip? Will that not add to the treasure trove of knowledge available on the forum? (just an example to illustrate my point)

All it takes is five minutes of our time and the realization that we needn't just remain consumers but can/should become contributors too. That is the least we can do in return for the help/clarity/benefit that we have derived through collective harnessing of ideas.

A majority of Bhpians do that. But its time it becomes a habit with all of us.

Oh so true, and so discourteous to those who may have provided help and advice.
