+1 to what Gautam said
He is so very adorable. It made me very nostalgic taking me back to 1997 when Justy came into our lives. We went through everythin you are right now and they are sweet memories. Sadly he left us last year but he lives on in our hearts.
Let me know when I can come over.
Thanks guys. Dippy come over anytime ya, no problem.
Enzo's training is going great. So far i have taught him to sit on command. He, on the other hand has taught me not to sleep at night, fetch things for him, clean up after him, etc, etc. :D
Ah, the days the pups are like this. ..
@Tejas, make the most of the next few weeks.
Very adorable pup Tejas. Take good care of him.
tejas, lovely pup - very adorable.
i really envy you :-)

venuraja & Raccoon, relax guys.
As my latin friends would say, Stercus accidit (s.hit happens). I feel bad for your relative venuraja but stop posting depressing stuff on my happy thread!!!!!!! |
Puppies are cute and beautiful but puppy would grow up as adult dog.
Anyways congratulations for your puppy.
So so sweet. He's absolutely adorable. Lovely eyes. Lucky you. Nice pics too
wow cute enzo :) congrats tejas - many joy filled years coming your way. Enzo looks like marley from 'marley and me' (book cover and movie)
How many nails does enzo have - 16, 18, or 20?
A few things that I don't think have been discussed here -
- A labrador is a family dog. Give it human company as much as possible. Don't put it in crates and cages etc. Stop reading American books that suggest such cruel things.
- Be careful of slippery floors like mosaic, marble etc. Larger breeds like lab or golden retrievers or GSDs are affected by such floors and their hips are irrepairably damaged by such floors. Most large breed dogs brought up in apartments have bad hips. Make sure Jazz gets the chance to have strong hips. Put some rough material on the floor if that is possible, particularly during the growing up years.
- Labs will eat anything and everything. Mine once happily chewed a naked blade and bled from his mouth for hours !! They can even eat stone chips and kill themselves. Be very strict with such habits for his good only. Don't get blackmailed by his innocent looks.
- Love him like your child. Someone has already said this. No harm in repeating again. Love him. Love him and love him. But don't spoil him. Be strict if he wants to explore every damn thing on the road with his mouth.
- Invest in building up an excellent relationship with a handler who will save you during a medical emergency. Doctors are too busy to bother about your dog. So are handlers. 99 per cent of them are crooks. Spot one who is not. Or find a fellow owner who knows someone. Keep him in good humour.
Thanks everyone.:thumbs up

I think 20, need to check. Why? What is the significance of that?

Thanks. BTW, even i don't like the concept of crate training.
Few questions:
how long does the teething phase last?
lot of websites suggest ice cubes or frozen carrots during teething. Are they ok? Someone had told me not to give any cold stuff.
what treat options to keep inside kong toys other than peanut butter?
is the bitter apple spray ( to discourage pups from chewing on unwanted stuff) available in bombay?

well fewer nails to clip lol:
actually i faintly recollect people telling me, that how good a breed is, depends on the number of nails as well how the big the paws and how good the nails are.
Not sure if thats true :)
Damn.
He's really Cute.
Enjoy Petting :)
man I miss my Dashys childhood. She is three now.
Love love and love a lab. A lab needs a human company always. Try talking to him, anything. They way reciprocate is really awesome.
My dashy was a rock through my ups and down. She can make out my mood, if I'm down I can see that pain in her eyes.
Love him, and congrats.
Regarding the teething issues keep him occupied with you always. My experience was the moment she is bored starts chewing everything. She even chewed my esteems mud guard!!
