I would like to clarify this as someone is going to try a dose or two of Cantharis and say it did nothing to them. :-)

[/u]Each person's symptoms can be different. Some will not get any symptoms as they are not susceptible to that medicine.

Cantharis will not produce haematuria if one takes a dose or two casually. The lack of suceptibility and the lack of enough dosing to produce symptoms is one reason why skeptics say

Homeopathy is science. A difficult one to understand for the casual guy. It needs lot of effort even to learn the basics.

Murthy
I got haematuria with single dose of cantharis 30 including some minor blood clots.( 5-6 urinations happened) As per the suggestion of homeopath same medicines was repeated and next urine was normal. It was prescribed to me for minor discomfort in urination.

i do not suggest any one taking homeo medicines themselves . if the medicine taken is not the correct remedy it may produce( at least in some persons) the symptoms for which it was the cure.
Most important thing in homeo is to find the correct remedy, which only a experienced homeopath can do

Thanks a lot for the link Mr. Murthy. Very good link for all who want to try homeo as an alternative medicine option .

I am a recent convert to Homeo medicines and have never looked back since. Specially after my mom was cured of an abscess in her neck without any surgery and just oral medication. It really did wonders and cannot term it as placebo, as I saw the whole episode of the abscess getting cured over a period of 4 months. Of course it was slow and painful for my mom as well but in the end she got what she wanted: A cure without surgery!

Hi Rkg

A single dose affecting you means you are a sensitive person and also that you are highly susceptible to Cantharis.

However it is rare that people get symptoms that belong to the medicine after a single dose. Cases like yours are exceptions.

This is old news, but relevant to the thread topic.

RSS-developed cancer drug gets US patent - India - The Times of India
Quote:
NAGPUR: An anti-cancer drug extracted from cow urine and developed by an affiliate of the RSS has got a US patent for the third time for its anti-genotoxicity properties, a senior official has said.

The drug developed by RSS-backed Go Vigyan Anusandhan Kendra had earlier got the US patent as a bio-enhancer with antibiotics and anti-cancer drugs.

The research for the drug brand named 'Kamdhenu Ark' was carried out jointly by the Anusandhan Kendra and National Environmental Engineer Research Institute (NEERI), Acting Director of NEERI Tapan Chakraborty said.

The research found that Re-distilled Cow Urine Distillate (RCUD) was useful for protecting and repairing DNA from oxidative damage, Chakraborty and Sunil Mansinghka of Kendra told reporters yesterday.

Oxidative DNA damage is a leading cause of ageing, cancer and other diseases.

RCUD works against genotoxicity, a harmful action on a cell's genetic material, they said, adding research has strengthened the efficacy of 'Kamdhenu Ark' as an anti-cancer drug.

The research was carried out on three patients, two of them having throat and uterus cancer, Mansinghka said.

Urgent advice/help/info required on "Unani"

Guys,

As mentioned i urgently require you advice/help/info for a problem i am facing with my lower back and the pain is killing me.

Root cause:I use to work in an engineering industry way back in 1995 to 1999. I use to life weight every day as it was my routine. By doing this i have abused my spinal cord which has come back to haunt me now. Offlate i get a severe back pain in my lower back and due to this i am not able to stand up straight infact i have to crawl to move around. On consulting a top ortho surgen and after an X-ray and a mri scan the doctor has dioganised the problem

1. The last bone on the spine which is called as "L5" has protruded and is preassuring the nerve which is connected to both my both legs. There is a sever wear n tear in the "L4" & " L3" bones too which sits on top of the "L5". The doctor had precribed me medicens /physiothearapy and few excercise which i have been following for the last 10 days and as of now i am feeling much better but not 100% fit. Now i can walk slowy . No more 2 wheeler driving for life time.No more lifting weight for life time.No more bending down to pick up something for lifetime. No more sitting for more that 1/2an hour. The next time i get sever pain i have to under go a major surgery in my spine which the doctor said to postpone as long as possible.

Now few of my friends have told me to Meet a person called Dr.Mehaboob Khan in KR Nagar near mysore who uses "Unani" medicen to cure such kind of problem permenantly and my friends are pushing me to meet him.

How safe is the "Unani" medicen?
Does intake of "Unani" medicen have side effects? cos have heard that this will have an effect on kidney and liver?
Has any of the Bhpn's tried "unani" or any of you or your friends/relatives know about this doctor?

please let me know your inputs on this....

Thanks

Even though I have faith in non-allopathic treatment, when it comes to ortho-related problems, I'd strictly advice to stick with the professionals in the field. If you want you can change doctors to get a second opinion but please stick to certified orthopedic specialists.

My mother aged 65 has been diagnosed with Thyroid and High BP recently. Both medicines are lifelong once you start - something I want to avoid.

Can someone comment on alternative treatments for thyroid/ BP ?

She has no other ailments.

Re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on this forum to provide free consultations

Hi,

This is regarding an Ayurvedic Pharma company i.e. Fair Pharma, based out of Cochin with branches in various parts of southern India. The URL of the website is:
"Fair pharma - Ayurvedic Medicines - Antiviral Medicines, Mental Retardation, Arthritis, Prostate Gland, Cancer, Cervical Spondilosis, Nicotine blocks

This website claims to offer treatment for the diseases related to heart, cancer, Liver, backpain etc etc. Somebody told me that he took a 100 days course for his heart and avoided surgery 10 years back. Now he is again going to start the same 100 days course. It costs around Rs 18,000 and is very effective. One can avoid heart surgeries.

I wanted to know if any of BHPian is aware of the results related to claims made on the Fair Pharma website? If T. A. Majeed (owner) is really offerring such good medicines to the patients?

It would be great if any BHPian shares his / her experience on the Fair Pharma.

Thanks,
Irish

Re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on this forum to provide free consultations

@rishabh - I haven't seen the ProCAARE link but yes I had gone through the following link:

PIL by Kerala PUCL - Supreme court stops fraud

Since these links talk only about fraud related to HIV treatment claims, I thought that he can treat the heart related problems properly. Also somebody told me that he avoided Bye Pass surgery 10 years back and now he needs to undergo the same course again as he is feeling uncomfortable.

Need to know if any fellow BHPian know about the details related to the heart treatment or it's the same (fraud) as of HIV treatment?

Thanks,
Irish

Surely the HIV thing removes all credibility?

There are plenty of reputable Ayurvedic doctors. I'd stay away from big-noise advertisers. Personally, I am keen on homeopathy, but I see some ridiculous claims being made in newspaper adverts.

Personal choice, of course. Even my wife, diagnosed with mildly high BP is determined to follow a herbal practitioner for a period of months. If there is no improvement, she'll go back to the allopaths

Re: Alternative Medicine/Treatment options

Thank you @ Mr. CarBoy for Re-Directing me to this thread.

A very nice concept in an extremely nice forum.
Definitely, an online addition to the social service that we take pride and great happiness in doing offline on a regular basis.

Hello everyone,
About Me:
I am a 3rd generation Doctor & a 2nd generation Homoeopath. Though I am a Homoeopath by choice, love & passion I am also many other things at heart avid Nature Lover, trekker, Animal Lover and rights campaigner, Poet & Writer, Technology buff, Philosopher ... and ofcourse - Car & Bike Enthusiast.

Having worked with the best in the field of Medicine, Paediatrics & Orthopedics, being involved in the designing & structuring of Homoeopathic Softwares & organizing many seminars & events of local, national & international level for Medicine & Homeopathy...
I chose to walk my own path ... or as they say - put the top down and drive through the open road.

I started my own brand : Sunshine Homeopathy Clinic - with 3 branches in Mumbai (so far)
and another company : TechnoMedikss Pvt. Ltd.
and 2 other organizations : Homeopathy Army & Knowledge Junction.

I am open to any queries or questions of any sort on this forum.

Please bear in mind:
1. I will reply at my earliest and that is my promise. There will not be a day that I will post my reply on a automobile related thread and ignore this thread as Homoeopathy is my 1st love and I have voluntarily chose this profession to help mankind in general in any way that I can. But please be patient. There maybe days when I am genuinely busy and may not be able to log-in.

2. I am sorry I will not be able to offer my personal / professional email id or numbers (unless specifically asked for and approved by the moderators) - as it is clearly not intended to solicit new patients and also it will definitely be a little inconvenient

3. A standard disclaimer that is issued by all medical practitioners when consulting in any forum or online tool - especially when one has not seen the patient face to face and has not had the liberty of complete clinical examination applies to any and all of my prescriptions and advices - that the physician is not to be held responsible for any unfortunate event and proper consultation with a doctor is always advisable
(sorry friends, this sounds too harsh and technical, but we have to quote these legal sentences, even though we may not mean them from our hearts, my apologies for the same.)

4. I shall not indulge in any mud-slinging or defamation and neither will entertain or justify any such comment towards my science. I respect and consider equal all modes of health and cure. Allopathy (Modern Medicine), Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Yoga, Reiki, Accupuncture, Accupressure, Siddhi, Unani, Vitamins, Diet and Nutrition, Hypnotherapy.
All of them. I do not advocate all, neither discourage either. On this forum I shall pertain only to my scope and limitations as a Homoeopath despite the knowledge that I may posses on any of these other valid life sciences.

I shall follow up this post with a post of FAQs of Homoeoapthy to clear most doubts at the onset.

A warm hello to all the fellow Doctors on this community & thread.

Glad to be a part of this.

Nice post Dr. Suraj ! I am sure you will be of great help in this thread

I always wondered one thing right from childhood. Why doesnt a Homeopath "Prescribe" medicines ? I know there are mixes, formulations, dilutions etc, but why isnt there a prescription given to the patient ?

I face the pain of not having prescriptions in homeo, basically because I travel regularly & often end up forgetting my medicines and there is no other workaround than skip the dose, which means i am back to square one !

Even otherwise, when i shifted from chennai to blr, i had tough time explainin the new homeopath about my condition but there was no choice to continue the medication. Instead, i had to start afresh with new set of medicines.

same thing is going to happen now again since i shifted to hyd. would it not be easier if i had a prescription and shown it to the new doc & explain my treatment & issues ? I dont think the homepath's are insecure that patient wont come back for medicines, because most of them opt homeo by choice than force. I think it has been a tradition and being followed, regardless of the convenience issues ?

sorry if my post was offending, but it was just a curious question coming out of the pain i experience No offence meant at all ! once again, thanks for offering your help in this forum

Don't know about Unani, but in Pune there is a Kabir Bagh where a well respected and senior disciple of Iyengar runs a medical Yoga institute. You have to go with X-Rays and Scans and complete history and they will recommend some Yoga exercises with specialized props and supports just like in Physiotherapy.

You may have to stay there for weeks or longer though. There might be similar places in Mysore as well since Mysore has some reputed Yoga centers.
