A friend & Fellow BHPian passes away!

I'm still in shock as I write this. Got the news a few hours ago,and I feel numb.

A close family friend(and a distant relative too), my junior in school (FAPS, Bangalore), Ashwin Gopan passed away a few days ago. He met with an accident while riding with his group on the 'Dragon' stretch.

I really didn't know that he was a member on the forum,until I saw this thread from a google search.The only child, he & his parents moved here 4 years ago from B'lore. We used to play basketball together as kids, and every now and then have a game of pool when we were in our teens. Although its been over 8-10 years since I saw him, I remember him as a very soft spoken, shy and happy-go-lucky guy.

Please include his family in your prayers today.

May his soul rest in peace.

Really sad to know this news and his parents must be devastated. May his soul RIP

OT: Does it make sense for a single child of parents to take such risks? I mean bike riding etc. I know accident can happen to anyone at anytime but still his parents would have thought otherwise.
