Yup, it's been a real pain owning the Ford GT. Firstly the starter button got spoilt and the car had to be towed away to the Ford dealership, then the car siren started beeping in the middle of the night at regular intervals, JC started getting calls from the Ford factory saying that his car had been stolen (when he was driving it).
After having to wait for 2 years, if this is how the car is gonna behave, anybody would have given it back.

This is real shame for Ford, making the customers wait for so long and delivering a car like that.

One thing: I know I could sell the car privately and make a £50,000 profit. But I have never profited from my position as a motoring journalist. And I never will.

Decision to be respected.
Malfunctioning electronics can be a royal frustration.

Ford's has to hang down its head in shame....after all that waiting, giving a screwed up car and that too to JC, its not going too improve his opinions about them.
Last year he had mentioned that the Ford delearship in the UK was not up to their mark...and it looks like they are living up to his expectations.
Boy i can't wait for the next Top Gear dowload. I bet he's gonna give a complete report on it. It's been the talk of the show ever since it arrived (all for the wrong reasons).
Moral of the story : If you dream of owning a particular car when you grow up. Make sure you buy the same car you dreamt about, and not some contemporary version of it.
The Ford GT might resemble the GT 40 but, thats where the similarities end.

well looks like all the new gizmos and electronics are not meant for the automobile industry....they need to slow down with the "high tech" stuff

Maybe Ford borrowed it from the Mercedes Benz.

He has now got it back. Knew it would be returned to him soon.

I just knew this....would have done the same if I were him. Call me emotional/stupid but dreams are rarely what I would like to part with and I am sure lot of us would concur on this. :)

with the alarm sesnors tuned down and tracker system switched off - he is also buying a SLK 55
" he is also buying a SLK 55"
Does JC need to buy his cars? I would imagine all the manufacturers are falling over themselves to give him one of theirs for free :)

then reporting would be biased
actually, ford have stalled all the deliveries for that car, because of that faulty electronis.. they would be making deliveries after the fault has been rectified!!!... :D... i think i saw that in the last TG edition
