RIP Tarun Venkateswaran (tachometer)

Dear All,

My brother, Tarun Venkateswaran, with handle "tachometer" on Team-BHP was killed early morning on 7th September 2009 by a hit & run driver on Palm Beach road, Navi Mumbai.

On Sunday night, Tarun had not returned home even after 2am, which prompted my dad to ask me to look for him. I found Tarun & his friend along with his bike, bleeding profusely with head injuries & unconscious. They were found off the road, inside the bushes after scanning the road several times with my bro's friends.

When I rushed my bro & his friend to the hospital, the doctor mentioned that he could have saved them if I had found them earlier. After being hit on the side, their bike was thrown off the road, into thick vegetation, making it difficult for passers-by to spot or help them.

After surveying the spot several times, the Police & I have collected evidence about the killer car. It is a White Hyundai Accent. The bike is relatively intact on the back, which means they were not rear ended but bumped off the side. From the parts of the car we found, it appears that the car lost control & spun around, sustaining damage to its back side. The car would be missing its rear windshield, broken tail lights & impact marks on the side as they flattenned several barricade poles after losing control.

My sincere request to Mumbai Team-BHPians to look out for this White Hyundai Accent as it might to some garage or the other for repairs.

I would also like to dedicate this thread in Tarun's loving memory.

That is horrible news. My sincere condolences to you and your family. Did your brother's friend also lose his life?

This is very sad news. may his soul rest in peace.

Leaving the scene of accident was the biggest mistake the car occupants did. Hope they are found and tried. They could have saved a life.
