Imagine the same picture in India. There would be some idiot who would cross the barricades when the plane is taxing on the runway. Just like our railway junctions/gate crossing. Cant help but laugh just thinking of a guy crossing and he gets blasted into the air by the thrust of the plane's engines.

What about Boston's Logan International? The runway feels like it almost goes into the ocean

I got the pictures of Gibraltar airport just a few days ago. Looks like this email is doing rounds everywhere

Awesome stuff people. I really like the sign - Airfield Ahead. Keep within the white lines. Too cool.

Miss the old table top runway at M'lore (Bajpe). The pilot brakes and puts reverse thrusters on as soon as the wheels touch the runway.

Well something of similar sort does exist in India also, in Goa to be precise.

But, there is no civilian traffic, only personnel from the IAF who cross the runway to reach on the other side. There too, they have gates to stop vehicles from crossing when there is an incoming/outgoing flight.

Anyway, it sure does seem very funny to see vehicles zooming across the runway in-between various take-offs and landings.

Jaspreet Singh

Even Singapore airport has crossing of city roads but beneath the runway. HongKong airport is also just beside sea beach between mountains.

Its the Dabolim Airport if i ve not mistaken. I Remember during on of my stays at the Bogmalo Beach you can see the planes land and take off the airport which is on a cliff. Both IAF and civilian aircrafts, use the strip.
