Seems like both the hotels started concentrating more on weekend parties to utilize the It potential of the city.

Did some search, but wasn't successful. I remember of a show where they showed a small (budget) hotel somewhere in Trivandrum who serves "Chicken Thoran" along with meals.
Amrita TV-Thattukada.This is the one i could remember

Re: A guide : Eating out in Kerala

There is a new vegetarian restaurant in Thodupuzha near Private bus stand towards Pala road. "Hi range" pure veg restaurant which is a multi storied Hotel. although slightly steep in pricing, their food seems nice. they serve Dosas, Rices typical of Saravanas and Aryaas in Kerala.

that is Hotel Malabar Village in Vengallur(Muvattupuzha road). their food is good. there special beef dry fry is great.
Hi-Range Pure Veg is diagonally opposite to Private Bus stand, Thodupuzha(towards Pala).
There are many good restaurants including Joance regency and TEECEE restaurant among others.

Naushad Big chef Restaurant chain is operating Canton mall food circle in Muvattupuzha. yet to check.

Re: A guide : Eating out in Kerala

An update on dinner buffet in Trivandrum:

Went for a dinner buffet with family to Maurya Rajadhani tonight. The bill came to ~500+ per head. I was expecting something closer to 450 range based on my previous visits a couple of years back. Looks like the rate hike has been steeper than I expected.

What are the current rates in other alternatives like Residency Towers?

Re: A guide : Eating out in Kerala

Noticed a new Kethels outlet at Pattom, Trivandrum. I had been putting off going to the busy Chala Market outlet and now this should be a boon. Sadly, this time around I had less time at Trivandrum.

Tried Beef Biriyani at Rahmath hotel, Calicut yesterday. It was awesome.

Chicken Biriyani from Paragon hotel, Beef Biriyani at Rahmath hotel, MS opposite to Paragon hotel are some of the must do's every single time I visit Calicut.

Fellow members from Calicut - Am I missing anything (Calicut only).

When I was at Calicut in 2003-04, I was a regular at Hotel Hyson for Mutton Biriyani and Hotel Plaza, near KSRTC for Fish Biriyani. Also had lunch with "Ayakura fry" in the "Amma restaurant" near Parayancheri many times. Karimeen pollichathu from Paragon was also outstanding. Hope they maintain the standards now too.

Kannur restaurants i visited frequently when I was residing there. Onden hotel (lunch with variety of fried fish, also have breakfast), Hotel Anandabhavan Bank road for breakfast and lunch with fish fry, MVK restaurant for Mutton Biriyani, Hotel Soft(Bank road) for chicken Biriyani and Hotel Aquaris in Bank road. There was a small "Home hotel" setup near Nileswar, where they served surface fried fresh Karmeen with lunch near N12.234 E75.152 for very cheap rates.
