Deutz Engine Screensaver & Engine assembly/working animation

This may be the coolest screensaver ever.

It shows a (rotating) 3 dimensional DOHC 4 cylinder engine being completely assembled from a bare casting, even showing all the bolts tightening. When the assembly is complete, it shows the working engine (in slow motion) but with a transparent block, it zooms in to show an individual cylinder running through all 4 strokes.

It is absolutely amazing!! ... But unfortunately it is also huge, almost 42 Mb.

Megaupload Linky

A friend gave it to me but then I found references at a couple of sites..... this particular link is from ultimatecarpage.com forum

You'll need a software like winrar to unrar this file. I have a zip version too but thats ever bigger (about 45 MB). Let me know if there's a better way than megaupload for sharing this.

hi mohit,

nice find there..... i recently downloaded the file- and quite a treat to watch, i must say. great stuff....

and i think, that the particular engine depicted in the file is a DOHC duratec from ford..... seen a layout exactly like this one in a souped up mondeo- the black one modded by karanshah, posted elsewhere in this forum- and i say so, because i have personally seen the mondeo.......

Fantastic work indeed.... the wow factor is very much there...
Perhaps taken from the actual CADD (of Ford)?

In any case, let me appreciate the level of perfection achieved by the creators.

hehe...i myself was confused in the beginning, but came up with the solution, eventually....

just right-click on the icon of the "deutz engine", that shows/displays the file, and you will find "install" as one of the options.....that's it......

Get Knoppix or Ubuntu Linux (you can run from live CD/DVD) and you can get loads of 3D engine screensavers!
From V4 to V8 and even flat layout - nearly everything!
