Normally it will be sent within 12-48hrs of your application.

I was asked to answer a few questions about my past transactions. As soon as I finished, I checked my email and the report was already there.

Did they ask you "match the following" type of questions?

Whats considered a OK CIBIL score? I recently evaluated online and my score came out to be 778. I have a running home loan and 2 credit cards in my name.

Yeah they asked me match the following type of questions regarding my bike loan and my credit card. Then after I finished them, the results came as Authentication Successful, and that the email has been dispatched with the details. Its been more than 24 hours now and I still haven't received it.

Anything above 750 is good as per the banks and CIBIL themselves. Minimum is 300 and maximum is 900. Everyone start off with 900 points initially. Most lendors require the score to be 750 or above.

This score matters only if you are looking for any type of credit. If your existing financials meet the criteria of the financing institution, your current score should not be a hindrance in getting the line of credit sanctioned to you.

Re: Now have Access to your CIBIL Credit report

What is hammered into bank executivies heads are that 800+ scores, is "creamy layer" type score. However, score is immaterial like Lapsi said. The underwriters for each loan product in different banks decide on what is a good score for the type of loan you applied for. So in itself, a under 800 score is not sub average or below par.

I hope you have some type of acknowledgement that you have paid for the report. Make a phone call or write an email to find out the status.

Re: Now have Access to your CIBIL Credit report

Does the score get affected if you have dormant active cards in your name?

My report shows a HDFC Credit card which from what I remember was closed when I upgraded to a signature card in 2006. The outstanding balance is showing zero but there is nothing mentioned about the account being closed. Does this mean I have to call HDFC and ask them to close this credit card? Will it improve my credit score?

There is also a old credit card of Standard Chartered Bank which I cancelled. The outstanding amount shown is Rs.5. This account is also not showing as 'Closed'.

Not a problem w.r.t CIBIL report. But I would suggest you to ensure that there is no outstanding dues - get a no dues outstanding certificate. I just recently did that when i closed my ICICI credit card. Got a signed (scanned copy) statement mentioning the same.

I found a Google ad for www.creditsudhaar.com

Apparently, they'll help improve CIBIL credit scores.
