cut-offs experienced !!

i was just pushing my zen to the limits today just to find the exact cutoffs at each gear !! its an august 2004 zen mpfi!! couldnt really get one on the fourth wondering if there is a cut-off on the fourth or is it just the top speed ??
anyways i found the following:-

- 1st gear 45kmph!!
- 2nd gear 80kmph!!
- 3rd gear 120 kmph!!
- 4th went upto 145 but dint feel the distinct cutoff!!
- 5th went upto 150+ on the meter wonder howmuch that would be actually w\o error!!??

but man she sounded good !!!!!! im just dying to get that freeflow now saving up for a good one now!!!
do share your experiences too !! whatever be your ride!! also since the zen doesent have a tacho at what speeds when pushing flat out do you suggest shifts !! just before the cutoffs??? (for max acc.)!!!

hmmm interesting just hope it doesnt turn out to be like the last one ( top speed in first gear )

just to clarify with everyone.no ones here to spoil their cars but being enthusiasts we woeuld like to know the capabilities of our cars and hence we push it.

so that once ina way when we need that power we know what to do.

this is my vehicles data but i wasnt pushing it hard enough and i still feel it will go more.though the speed is similar to yours.

1st gear 40 kmph
2nd gear 70 kmph
3rd gear 105 kmph
havent tried 4th and 5 th

its a 1997 carb zen no mods at all.

now for the baleno

1st gear 50 kmph
2nd gear 85 kmph
3rd gear 120 kmph and then some mo*%$#@* cyclist came and i had to slow down.

still i wasnt redlining it and it could have gone a bit more

i have good year ventura tyres on it on 14 " rims no other mods.

And The accord .....hahah

1st gear 45 kmph
2nd gear 60 kmp and then i was stopped by the automatic speed limiter (my dad LOL)

so untill i get it alone i cant try that out.

waiting to here about everyone elses too.

Rev

Speed limited in each gear ..
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th
Corsa 1.4
50 85 130 178 192 (5500rpm)
Alto 0.8
42 82 123 155 (dont know never pushed in 5th)
just want to add that in the corsa i am more focussed on the tacho read than the speedo hence those are aprrox reads (from quick glances) ...
the ones for the alto are pin point speedo reads ...

PS - All speeds are read from the stock speedometer hence are not nessecarily the true speed of the car.

I had heard somewhere that the esteem can go all the way to 120kmph in the second gear.
now, as for my esteem, 1 st gear top speed is 45 or near at about 4500rpm.( My dad drives it. I am only 12 LOL)
The thrust is addicting , but ........

i have personally redlined my mondeo at 200+ kph in 4 th gear on the expressway.
first gear the mondeo does bout 60 .
And all those people who r thinking pulling the car or maxlining will harm the engine need to chill. In fact once a while its recommended as it cleans the engine of excess carbon.
the maximum speed a car can go all depends on the gear ratio, and max engine speed or rpm .and no stock car can over rev cause the fuel cuts of at the max rpm speed.
and by the way
0-100:
esteem: 12.5
ikon 1.6 :13.6
sail 1.6 :14
old city 1.5:12.3

A stock baleno should do 140+ in 3rd.Did you redline the car?Is it EuroII or III?

As many have said it here, first gear is only for moving the car from stationary position, and IMHO, one should shift immediately into 2nd gear. When crawling in traffic, if the 2nd gear is being used, better to crawl along in that than in the first gear.
