Since the watch is being offered as a free gift (or on outright payment of Rs 299) the claimed value of Rs 2599 is an eyewash. You've been had. Maybe you should write to the company saying their Delhi showroom is selling substandard products. You could attach my promotional ad to show that there's nothing exclusive about the watch, which is available a dime a dozen. You could imply that you're planning to give Reebok adverse publicity if they don't make amends.

Wont that account to balck mail? I just wanted to warn fellow members not to buy reebok products, There are other better alternatives available in terms of Nike and Addidas, both of them manufacture watches and their products are far bettr than reebok. I will write them one more time posting this link. if they act up great, else they will surly loose one faithful customer.

Apparently the watch has so many issues. A reputed company like Reebok(I dont regard them as a sports company any more, they are a lifestyle brand *to me*) should take care of this.
On a different note, I still have pair of trousers gifted to me by my mom some 8 years back. It never fitted me. But still I treasure it a lot, coz it was gifted to me by my mom. She never knew that I can't use it.

It's not blackmail at all. As a buyer of a well-reputed brand you are entitled to a certain degree of satisfaction. In this case the product was clearly shoddy. You can tell Reebok you plan to approach the Consumer Redressal Forum in Delhi since the watch is overpriced and didn't work properly since day one. All you need is a bill as proof of purchase. You could also say that you're open to either monetary reimbursement, or willing to exchange it with (say) a pair of shoes.
I should reply to this thread.Reebok is JUNK.Shoes bought didn't last 1 month and though they replaced them, that pair also gave up in exact one month.Have vowed to never look towards Reebok/Woodland/Nike/Adidas etc.Next purchase would be from Bata or Liberty at least they won't charge triple the cost of product.Life would be same.
Sad to hear such things these days ! If I show you the TISSOT watch which I bought from national market Bangalore for Rs.1200/- you might get a heart ache, it has 3 dials inside, full metal case with chrome and gold mix finish, all the functions are 100% working and its 2 yrs going strong without a glitch !! The original one costs 55k in the showrooms, my own shadow will not recognise mine is a dupe !! Lol

My Mom gave me a offer that she will buy me a new one when i go to delhi, I feel sad to have made my mom say that, but initially my intention was to see if we can get it replaced.

Hi,
We recently brought a new Reebok watch from your new Golemarket showroom in Delhi, Article number l16630. The date of Packing is 08/09. The moment i wore the watch for the first time the strap gave away. Now the watch runs slow, right now its 2 hours slower than the exact time. Thw watch cost 2599 and with this kind of money i expect quality. I want you to either replace this broken watch or refund my money.

It is highly disheartening to see a word class sports goods manufacturing company, doesn't even reply to complaint made by a customer on a subsided quality product. This product quality is far below even 200 Rs and the brand loyalty is the only reason for me to buy this product and pay the inflated cost of nearly 2600 Rs. This is the last time I am buying anything with a reebok logo on it. There are many products in the market with equal brand value and far superior quality, and i am sure they will be happy to have a loyal customer as happy you are to loose me as a customer. It takes a lot of hard working people to get a brand where it is today, and it also take a lot of lazy, ignorant people to screw up a brand. I am going to put this watch on my office display and tell everyone how pathetic quality is of this product and more over that how reducible is the customer support who doesn't even care to read/reply mails.

Very true, my last pair of floaters died in less than 6 months, the one before them died in 3 months. Both were from leading brands.

I have had a movado replica brought by me(i love watches), I have put both side by side for comparison. The movado cost me 300 RS, Check out the huge quality difference.

Sad to say, that reebok looks like a street-side product infront of your 300 bucks watch !
:OT I remember reading couple of articles In TOI, some months back mentioning a seizure of a large quantity fake shoes of reputed brand (Reebok, Nike Addidas etc) worth several lakhs by Bangalore police. But the link mentioned here is from another mainstream regional daily today.
http://www.udayavani.com/showstory.asp?news=0&contentid=584600〈=1
The other news was of seizing fake Levi's jeans. The news also mentioned that it is hard to differentiate from the original product.
My Casio bought 10 years back from gray market for Rs.650/-. Seeing the logo "10 year battery" I didn't actually believe then. But apart from the scratches and having had to replace the strap 2-3 times, never had any problem. Battery never changed, and time is always correct and all functions working!
Buy watches from watch companies.
Buy Shoes from shoe company
PS: I remember buying a watch from National market which had the same problem. But i had paid 150 bucks for it and got it repaired in 70. Guess your watch is also same make
Guys, that watch is doing the rounds of every promotional offer on mother earth. Vodafone claim it to be worth Rs.5000 and are gifting it out with new connections. The other free gifts are a jacket, sunglasses, bag etc. all of the same make-Reebok. And believe it or not all the above mentioned products along with 2-3 Reebok T-shirts etc. are being sold as combo offers for less than Rs.2000 in leading newspapers. Never fall for these tall claims and don't let such gimmicks fool you.
p.s. Pramod, I really appreciate your attitude of letting other members here learn from your experience by spreading awareness, without being embarrassed about the fact that you were had. And your stand on not blackmailing the company as it would serve individual/your interests over public interest is appreciable too.:thumbs up
+1 to what Jayabusa said. Good job Pramod for having enlightened us about Reebok.
On a quick look at the consumer complaints website , there seems to be a huge amount of complaints against Reebok (~1500) and quite a few about the Reebok watch and the Reebok kit.
Indian Consumer Complaints Forum | reebok
Were as complaints against much larger and popular companies like Nike and Adidas are relatively few(~100)
Hope internet and Google does the job of preventing people falling for this scam like how it did against Skoda.

Bata?!?! Are you serious? I stopped patronizing them few years ago, as their products died super fast. Just recently bought their slippers and the strap broke in just 2 months. The range they have is also pretty drab.
Stopped buying Woodland shoes too, after 2 negative experiences. They used to be good earlier.
Sad to hear about the bigger international brands going the same way. Clearly we are being taken for a long ride with these overpriced fancy labels. More than 2 years back, I bought an unknown brand of pretty good looking shoes. They are still going strong and have become my favorites...
Todays. Times of India, Ahm edition.
same reebok watch is for 499/-
