Is Hyderabad safe to drive through during Telangana unrest?

Disturbances being reported from Andhra on the news channels, be careful if driving. I've postponed my trip.

Guys i have started from akola today morning and have managed to reach hyd safely by 4 p.m. today. Saw a crowd shouting slogans of telangana and burning effigy at the junction just after nizamabad. (one way goes to nirmal - nagpur and the other goes to hyd).

I am starting tom morning at 5 from hyd and hope to cross as much as possible in the early hours. if all goes well i should be in vizag by 5 p.m.

Good to know that. How long was the drive? Did you go via Khammam? How was the road?

started from hyd @ 6 a.m. and reached vizag by 5 p.m. 2 lane road from hyd - vijayawada. its good. Once at vijayawada you get on to GQ till vizAG and its a cake walk to home. Runway typre roads. I touched 130 kmph on my bike.

There are protests in Ananthpur & Kurnool as per news reports & the agitation seems to be starting as early as 0500hrs. Make sure you've sufficient fuel as all petrol bunks would remain closed in Seemandhra region on 05 & 06 Oct 13. If it's mandatory to travel then it is advised to do so only in the night.

It is advisable to not enter andhra at this point. I just spoke to my uncle in chitoor, all border entry points are blocked. I'm pretty sure you can't pass thru andhra for next 2 days.
