Mahindra to launch private aircrafts!

Mahindra wants to cover all the transportation modes, it seems. Soon, in collaboration with NAL, they will launch a Aircraft for the private buyer!

source: Mahindra-NAL's private aircraft to be launched soon

With this launch Mahindra would be competiting in bikes, cars, trucks and aircrafts! There was a post on another thread that they also want to build Yachts! That's one hell of a line up to offer. Does any other company boasts of a product line up as this?

After Two-wheeler, now Aerospace !
Seems Mahindra has a very aggressive policy now.

Thinking of investing in the Mahindra shares.

Good decision. By that time all the initial niggles will be sorted out

Infractions: 0/2 (8)

Mahindra has been quietly targeting the seriously affluent consumer for quite a while now - indeed they have a separate sister division which markets and sells luxury yachts/ boats. this was begun sometime in 2007-2008.

Now they are making a foray into the world of private aircraft as well.

Clearly their businesses are diversifying and they are looking at catering to some interesting niche markets with these initiatives.

I have to disagree with you on that. It depends upon personal choice and preference anyway you might be the one who is satisfied with mahindra products.

M&M has built and supplied 24 aircraft to Jordan? WHOAA! Something wrong in the report i think.

For one, there are no indegenous designs in development/production except for NAL's 14/21 seat "Saras" and the 2 seat Hansa.

I think what M&M is doing is repackaging the Taneja built 5/9 seat P68/Viator series of aircraft being manufactured in Bangalore.

Unless that is they have come out with an indegenous design which has been kept top secret!

If not for the landing or parking problem of this plane, I would have bought one. .
Looks like landing fees is Rs18K BIAL to jack up airline parking fee
I wonder what the parking fee would be?

M&M doesnt need to have there own design or get it. I can supply and design and they will be able to make it just for me.

Aircraft manufacturing has quite a few benefits that M&M should be able to trickle down to cars at later stage. If they are considering building Aircrafts, it should be no surprise if they offer real sports/super cars in few years. In the same technology is used used to manufacture and test sports/super cars as it is used to manufacture and test aircrafts.

Extensive CF manufacturing ability, extreme Cnc mills and Wind tunnels to name a few.

Cheers
