Camping equipment for rent?

Me and couple of my freinds are planning for an outing to Ananthagiri hills this long weekend. Is there any such place in Hyderabad that we can rent camping equipment from ?

I know Bangalore has quite a few options to rent out camping equipment but havent heard of any such dealers in Hyderabad..

Thanks in advance for your replies..

I believe there is a store in GVK one that sells camping gear. It is a small shop i think on the 2nd or 3rd floor.I believe it is called Basecamp. I dont think they sell tents or such stuff. They sell stuff like water purifying bottles, swiss army knives etc.

Alternative is if you have some friends from Army check whether they sell surplus at the canteen stores

I found some additional information from a website (http://www.bcmtouring.com/forum/trav...t-india-t5424/)

I'm interested in buying decent camping tents that can sleep 4 - 6 people. From this thread, I understand there is only one shop, but what about online. Is it possible get it from US and if so which are the best sites?

I have heard of another store on PG Road called "On the Rocks - The Adventure Store" that sells and rents camping equipments.

On The Rocks-The Adventure Store is their website.

I do intend to visit them sometime to check out some tents and riding accessories.

Cheers,

Try Online shopping India | sports goods, apparel, shoes, fitness equipment, Toys, Games

I browse through this site occasionally, but have never bought anything yet from them until now.

Where is PG road? Btw Rs.900/Day for a pop-up tent, man that is expensive, It would make sense to buy a new one from US.

I am not sure of the exact location, but the website has their contact numbers.

Yeah, the rentals are quite high. They also sell the tents, might be a good idea to compare their pricing with the ones in US. Of course the quality too.

Cheers,

I actually went down to Penderghast Road but couldn't find their shop. They are listed as resellers for Decathlons. Their online tent portfolio seems to be good and am thinking of ordering online.

Now all I need is a good place to go and do camping.

Re: Camping equipment for rent?

I recently rented camping equipment from Xdog Trekking at Bangalore. You can visit their store in person or have the equipment delivered at home. I would suggest an in-person visit to check out the equipment yourself.

The rates are reasonable and the quality is decent. The payment is made in advance and they retain 1 local address id with them as security.

For reference, I rented 2 sleeping bags, 1 lantern, and a 4 person tent for 4 days and the tally came up to Rs. 1,160/-.

I am attaching their brochure which lists out the pricing details.
