The original Knight Rider car, KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) was a Pontiac TransAm. But the new movie has a Shelby MUSTANG GT 500 KR.

There is a 1995 Jackie Chan Movie called THUNDERBIRD. Believe me , It is an EPIC car movie!! Forget Fast And furious, This movie Cleans its backside with the fast and furious series!!

Gone in 60 seconds (esp. the 1967 Shelby ford GT 500 codenamed Eleanor).

The Fast and the Furious (was not impressed with the sequels though)

The French Connection (the car chase sequence on the streets of New York is just amazing to watch)

Driven

Italian Job (the old one with Michael Caine in the lead role)

Batman Returns (just love the Batmobile in this new version of Batman)

32 pages and not one mention of Transformers the movie?!!

Ok.. so its not about racing, but definitely about automobiles turning into robots and vice-versa. What more can the kid in you want to see on the big screen..?!!
It had the incredibly sexy Saleen mustang and the chevy camaro. HOT!!

A honorable mention also to Megan Fox.. though their was nothing mechanical about her..

Except her acting ofcourse ... Transformers was a good movie though, great effects.

And i do agree with the Fast and the Furious movies being stupid
Remember when they show a 3D internal view of Vin diesel's car in the first movie? you can see cylinders and stuff, along with the spark and everything...
Only problem is his car is a Mazda RX7 and everyone knows those have rotary engines
Also, I swear to god, Those cars must have like 20 gears...
And i remember that so called "pro mechanic" act all surprised when he opens the hood of a MKIV Supra and finds a 2JZ engine, what the hell? :@
The nitrous purge showoff was also stupid, not to mention the wierd blue flame from the exhaust ...haha, the cars probably run on home grade LPG..
Also, using nitrous causes everything around you to blur, and you might warp into another dimension if you're not carefull. Also want to mention that R33/34 skyline engine swap to a 1967 mustang fastback in the third movie.
What do we learn from this? Switching gears randomly and fire coming out from your exhaust means you're going fast.

On another note the new (4th) Fast and Furious should be releasing at the end of this year.

I just had a marathon session of these movies..

Gumball Rally
Cannonball Run1
Cannonball Run2

They are way better than the "car" movies of today..

@Amien, I think you are being too harsh on the F&F movies. Its just a movie, it doesnt have to be pin point acurate. If so, a Bond movie according to you is what???

It's got to be the 1977 classic, 'Herbie goes to Monte Carlo'. I've probably watched it a few hundred times over the past decade and a half.
