wrong my freind. Its a Alpine A110 actually, and the sound has been dubbed over from a racing Ferrari. Ill try and remember which one.....

Islero - looks like you are right

"According to recent claims by Claude Lelouch, he was driving his own Mercedes in the film, and later dubbed over the sound of a Ferrari 275GTB to give the impression of much higher speeds. Calculations made by several independent groups using the film show that the car never exceeds 140 km/h (85 mph), which seems to lend credence to his recent comments."

Is there some place one could download the clip err I meant movie . In my earlier post I had assumed it was a 10 minute high speed car driving scene and didnt realise the whole movie lasted only 10 minutes till I read the bit on IMDB which says "The film is nine minutes long because the film cartridge in the camera could only hold 10 minutes of film and it was taken in a single shot."

Yeah, I do have the clip, but its too big to upload in my limited internet.

Classic and Sports said it was an A110, hmm, one mystery for me to investigate. Diffrent people seem to be saying diffrent versions. One thing is sure. The camera being so close to the ground, gives the effect of very high speed when it actually it wasnt that high (although it wasnt anywhere near legal!!!)

For those interested I found the clip for C'était un rendez-vous on the net :

It is pretty good as mentioned earlier by Islero and worth a peek. Other writeups about it say in brief : "at times reaching speeds in excess of 135 miles per hour, blowing many stop signs, ramming through one-way streets, and narrowly avoiding hitting pedestrians or other vehicles many times."
