Hey Ajmat, your line one the W140 made me remember a movie I saw more than a decade ago. Can't remember the name or the cast, but I do remember that the guy on the run used a white W124 which he carjacked from a chick (who ofcourse ended up sleeping with him).

The whole movie had him running from the cops in the W124, with the car taking a beating but still kept running till finally it ended up on its roof in the final sequence.

Now if only I can get the name of that movie....

Good topic RT. 90% of my DVD Collection consists of car movies!

My favorites in no particular order:

1. Gone in 60 Seconds
2. Bullitt
3. Fast and the Furious
4. Cannonball 1 & 2 - For the Countach high-revving sound alone. Not really watched the movie beyond that initial scene.

'Herbie- The love bug' is just soo brilliant.

I also love Rendevous, I have a copy of that with me for now!!!!
There is little else that is cooler than an Italian sportscar screaming through 1960's Paris in the early morning, at extremely illegal speeds, going thru intersections red lights, taking corners fast, passing some landmarks. Oh I could go on and on..........

  • The Italian Job (i guess it qualifies)

the following movie(s) may not entirely be about cars but the cars do play a pivotal role. also one of themajor reasons i watched them was for the car(s).

  • The Wraith
  • The Absent Minded Professor (again, not entirely a "car" movie but thanks for reminding us about it, Samurai)

Daaammmnnn v1p3r......that's exactly what i was about to type....except for the cannonball run...i haven't seen that one yet... was gonna type 2fast2furious instead....

and my first ever hearthrob...the knight rider (i believe that's what made trans-ams synonymous worldwide- or at least in india) and the street hawk (i still remember the 5-4-3-2-1 blast, and those neons flashing by the rider's black visor)....i used to dream about those machines day and night for about a year or so....!!! i felt really sad (and angry) when DD took them off the air....ah, memories....
