I feel the gory nature of the video is colouring our opinions. Pl. see objectively :
a) Bombs have been thrown at the victim. His legs are in tatters.
b) Can any non-medico have the courage to move the person due to shock and the seriousness of the injuries.
c) at best medical help has to be called at the earliest.
d) taking a video of the victim in itself was insensitive and showing it on TV criminal. Imagine his wife and children viewing it. I shudder. Day is not far of before Indian media will show live rape of women and justify in the name of transparency. (They believe just blurring a part of the picture is sufficient for annonymity or showing their sensitivities).
e) police escort for VIPs follow a blue book on protocol and would not have left their post to attend to the unfortunate victim as they would then have been suspended for deriliction of assigned duties.
To sum it, this was an unfortunate incident and the victim would have passed away without anyone knowing his agony but not for the VIP motorcade.

Been following the incident ever since it was aired by TV Channels. This incident has made headlines on the national media and even a sedate news paper like "The Hindu" mentioned it in the front page , sadly the local/vernacular media chose not to, well, highlight it as they usually do.

Wonder what would've happened if it was the ministers who were attacked and the police stood by watching ?.
