There's a lot of good british artists out there. Sadly few gets noticed outside. I would add Michael McIntyre to the list of British Standup Comedians. I especially loved the 'Hello Wembley' show. He was even on Top Gear once and was absolutely hilarious.

I am surprised no one brought up the Brits - Rowan Atkinson, Ohmid Djalili, Stephen K Amos, Bill Bailey.

Here's the link from where i first discovered them.

Re: Stand-up Comedy - Who's Your Favourite?

Late George Carlin's stand up acts must be made mandatory viewing in school or something. Might help kids unlearn some of the nonsense peddled to them by us elders

I haven't seen it mentioned here maybe since it's not strictly stand up, but the Pakistani comedy acts and plays are just a class apart. Most of our comedians including the mighty Kapil shamelessly copy the jokes and sometimes entire scenes from them.

The AIB guys are a riot though, I specially like Abish Mathew. The one where he had Vir Das as guest is quite hilarious.

Yeah. Even better when you're in a bad mood and see him ripping into the audience.
For american, can't beat Chris Rock! Kill the messenger is brilliant.

For those who like British humor, this thread reminded me of 'Jasper Carrot'.

Trevor Noah
Russel Peters - Though sometimes I feel sorry for the individuals from the audience that he picks and sinks his teeth into

In the Indian stand-up circuit , I am liking shows of Daniel Fernandes recently. He's more satirical than slapstick. Anyone interested please look up his sketches in YouTube.

Trevor Noah

Gabriel Iglesias

Both are hilarious. Russel Peters was funny before, but I don't find him funny now. These two are hands down the best followed by Jeff Dunham.

Re: Stand-up Comedy - Who's Your Favourite?

Do try Simon Amstell as well. I think only one of his shows is available for viewing, but he is real good.
I am also trying out Ross noble, the SIARPC on Top gear, the one who bought a tank, "No congestion charge!" guy. Still have to finish the download. But has to be good, based just on the TG episode!
