the base 1.6 optra comes with just the central locking system meaning we'd still need the key to lock/unlock the car..
we opted for the keyless entry .. am sure your aware of remote lock locking /unlocking with a theft alarm and immobiliser etc systems ..

Hey turbolover,

Car looks superb.

When are you planing to put alloys. Since the caps will surely fall off in some time!! Otherwise juss drill a hole in between them and screw them so they dont fall!

One part which i dont like about your Optra is the horn! Its damn difficult to press! So how do you manage to!

Anywayz enjoy your special journey for Life!!

Congrats turbo lover.

I bought my Optra 1.6 in July (Black/beige interiors).

so welcome to the club.

I am in gurgaon, so the prices may be slightly different from Delhi, but I paid about 8.1 lakhs(before a 48K discount) and then some more discount to the tune of 24-25K because I took the finance option, total coming to about 7.33 lakhs if I recall correctly.

I added alloys with 15 inchers (25K), leather seats (30K), keyless entry (5K) and blaupunkt CD/MP3 (5K in lieu of the cassette player).

Am thinking of adding 3M film (what do you guys suggest, would the cops catch me if I put the shade that the dealer says is perfectly legal (50% side, 70% rear). (Quote 3.5K)

Also, was thinking of getting the side rear view mirrors and door handles painted body colored (dealer quoted 2K for this).

What do you guys think?

Saw the 6.99 add in the TOI I think a week after I had bought my car.

Yes, they have hidden insurance, road tax - its actually 6.99 ex showroom delhi/gurgaon.
This also includes finance discount assuming you take a loan of 6lakhs.

So I didnt get too bad a deal, would have gained maybe another 3-4k at the most had I waited for an extra week, so thats not too much lost.

I am a happy man.

Hey Turbo,
enjoy the car.
Was trying to convince my dad to replace the corolla with the chevy (diff. after repairs was just 30K on road with company reg. wheras corolla had indiv. reg) but he had some notion that the optra has a bad resale value which is true in comparision to the corolla but in his case he thought it was worse then the lancers.
