Miley Sur Mera Tumhara New & Old

which one do you prefer?
the new one or the good old one.
I switched on the TV to catch a bit of the Republic day celebrations and while channel surfing i caught the new version of Miley Sur.
Personally i found it absolutely Lame and a mockery of the original one.
I would any day pick this one over the Doordarshan original. still gives me goosebumps even now while watching it .

Im adding a poll so people can choose which one they prefer.

Saw the new version last night after nine pm news on ndtv, it wont hold a candle against the original one.

Although they have tried to do a good job but you can't recreate the old magic every time. I grew up watching the older version
and me and my friends would try to imitate all the regional languages sung in the song without knowing their meaning.

I was around seven that time and this was a great source of entertainment for us, even today listening to it gives a nostalgic feeling to me.

I think you meant the other way?
I haven't seen the new one but the old one (Which started with Bhimsen's heavenly voice and Lataji perfectly matching it in the end) was unforgettable.

OMG! This was beyond crappy! I need to watch the original just to get my head straight.

This feels like it was done for the heck of it. Added extra music where it was totally unnecessary, added so-called celebrities where they were simply not wanted or needed, this is pathetic.

These people who made this should be shot! This is as bad as RGV ki aag. Never mess around with a classic.

The old one, just to show up this lame pathetic excuse for 'national integration'.

I just watched the old one again. The new and crappy version just seems like a lengthy video featuring assorted celebrities. The old one had more of the aam aadmi instead of just celebrities.

The new one has ONLY celebs and it's pissing off....

20 Minutes up!

EDIT: Saw the entire video. Quite nice. But somehow I felt the Original was better.
There could have been more people who contributed more towards our country.
Some people had no business in the video. Sallu, Shahrukh,Shahid,Ranbir,Rohit Bal, Junior AB
'I' feel could have been skipped. Aamir atleast deals with some core issue for us.
Chalo Saalu can be forgiven for his 'Being Human' and the vocally challenged kids
he interacted with.
Deepika I felt, required a bath and thank God the showers came in time. She should have worn some Indian clothes. Look at Priyanka, she was looking fabulous in Indian wear.

Nice to see new generations of yester year's Mile Sur Mera tumhara.
I feel Hon'able Sri Ratan Tata and ilk should have been included.
No Sania, Viru the boxer, Leander & Mahesh, Pankaj Advani etc. who showcased India
to the world?

Army, Navy, IAF winded up in seconds. Thankfully no cricketers.

Happy Republic day to me and y'all!

All in all I felt the previous was more impactful, sending a chill of Indian pride down each one's spine OR this one will take time to sink in.

The original Miley Sur Mera Tumhara was probably the finest national integration video ever. I get goosebumps whenever I see it, even now when I saw it after long time. The fantastic start by Bhimsen Joshi is unbeatable, Rahman's instrumental + Amithab's voice is pathetic in comparison. It was one of those perfect compositions that rarely happens.

I think they should have created a totally new song instead of trying to remix/redo the old song. We will obviously try to compare the two and find the new song lame. BTW, the new version is toooooooooo loooonnngg clocking 16 minutes.

Haven't watched the new one, but the old one definitely gave me goosebumps. There are somethings which can't be recreated, its better to leave them alone.

I was just watching the new one and in quite a few places forgot that it was about India. It reminded me of those remixed old time cinema songs which have glammed up videos!
I realise they tried hard, but somehow there did not seem to be enough of real India in it. their attempts at 'improving' the music fall flat!!

Have voted for the old one.
I think they should have tried some new tune altogether so that there is no comparision made with the old one. You can't better such classic masterpieces.
