To share my experience, I had my bike stolen from a managed parking lot in Kolkata (in peak hours from a central location), it took close to 2 years for the FPR (Final Police Report) without any follow-up, and from insurance company disbursement was immediate on receiving that.

Stolen -Red HH Splendor - MH-01-EA-1171 from JVLR (Andheri East) - Mumbai

Hello folks,

Especially mates from Andheri, my bike got stolen today morning from JVLR - Andheri East. While heading home from work, I was compelled to park the bike there after a small mishap which lead to the rim being bent and more than a dozen broken spokes due to which the rear wheel was locked.

I left the bike there in the morning at around 4:00am and when I went back later in the morning to collect the bike in a tempo the bike had disappeared. Thinking the bike might have been towed away I went to the chowky where the cops said the bike must have been stolen as every week 2-3 bikes get stolen or mugged on that road.

While the bike was parked with around 6-7 other bikes, I am really surprised what made them rob my bike. Not taking any chances I went to all the possible police stations and towing zone chowkys in the area but in vain.

Please let me know if any of you come across her. I have lodged a police complaint but the cops are very confident that I wont find her again. According to them, these guys come in a tempo/truck and if they find any bike in a isolated or lonely area they just dump the bike in the tempo and drive away.

All I have is a hope left. Details of the bike are as follows :-

Colour :- Red
Make :- Hero Honda
Model :- Splendor
Reg. # :- MH-01-EA-1171
Stickers :- Honda Wing
Identification:- A dent on the LHS of fuel tank & a belly too

If you find/spot her anywhere please call my cell # 9820354514.

Sorry for being blunt.

Hey Thanks,

I know the chances are very rare that I might find her back, but as they say Ummeed Pe Duniya Kayam Hai!! So no harm in trying.

Also, the area from where its gone missing seems to be like a regular spot for bike thefts. The cops have been stressing on the point that its not a surprise that the bike got stolen from there, its a very common thing on JVLR. Wish I was aware of this.

Bike found abandoned @ Mahakali Caves (Near Jogeshwari)

Hello People,

A colleague of mine found the bike abandoned near Mahakali Caves (Apporximately 6 kms away from where it was picked up). The bike was shoved into some shrubs and luckily he happened to spot it.

The bike eletricals were fiddled with to start the bike, unfortunately he might have not been able to go far with the bent rim which posed huge challenge even for me on the day I parked her.

There is Bharat Petroleum ka petrol pump where I have kept the bike for now as I need to arrange for a pick up to take her to the garage. The petrol pump guys said that the guy was lying on the footpath with the bike also lying besides him. As possibly he was drunk or might have had a fall. They did not intervene thinking he was drunk and was the owner of the bike.

Mods - Request you to close the thread as the issue has been resolved.

A huge relief that you found your steed.

Where exactly did you leave it parked? The BPCL petrol pump (Om Vedant) on the JVLR that you are referring to is adjacent to the Kamal Amrohi studio, isn't it?
Regards

I had the same experience in Belgaum karntaka and found the bike within 2hrs after i lost it from the parking lot of my house. It was lying off the highway, hidden under some bushes. Same wiring fiddled.
There was no gas in the tank as i was not using the bike for a few months before, so who ever stole it could not get very far with it.
Thanks to empty tank

Congrats mantrig on finding the bike back. I guess you should also need to intimate the cops about the same.

As requested, thread closed.

Re: Pajero stolen from Bandra in Mumbai

Sorry to hear that mate. I am sure you must have already filed an FIR and also contacted the Insurance guys.

I remember a website where you could enter the details of the stolen vehicle and try to trace it. Let me find that out.

Thats the irony friend, it doesn't come with immobilizer, that is why there are so many incidence of lifting of Pajeros. Yes the cops were informed within immediately, they have sent the message on wireless and tell to keep checking after few hours.

I am not sure exactly how it happened but so far I was told that the car was parked inside the house of a relative of my friend, who were returning from Goa. Some of their luggage was also in the car as well as a laptop, gps and may other things. They didn't hear it starting. Just noticed after some time that it is not there..

Yes the FIR is filled, I will check with him whether he informed the insurance also or not.

Thanks for the concern guys, I am sure someone amongst us will come across the vehicle. THe Sump guard under the engine is highly dented, so that could be another clue.
