I wish those ads leading up to the event had made a mention of the tv channel/dates/timings that the matches were going to be relayed on. Would have resulted in more eyeballs.

Congratulations India.
The Pakistani player summed up the reason for difference now.
He said 'the same team played in Sharjah and here. it is the home crowd that made the difference. We saw a totally different game played by Indians which we were not expecting'.

The Indian team was very aggressive since the beginning of the match. They were in superb form. It's a perfect beginning to the world cup. Hope they will keep the momentum going.

The Pakistan team looked nervous and out of sorts - don't know whether the existing situation in the both countries (diplomatic and political) and the threats - had something to do with it.

India played awesome - fast and furious. Congratulations to the team.

But I could still spot some weakness in the team - holding on to the ball for just that wee bit longer... but I shall let that pass.

Hockey should be encouraged by the people and the media.It's our national sport and we have had our glory days. I also like the kit of the hockey team. Somehow I feel tha sky/light blue looks best on us. Wish Nike could change the colour of the cricket team also.

Yes, I agree with you. Unfortunately, I see here we have 12 posts on Hockey World Cup and if this were IPL or T-20 WC,there would have been 1200 posts within 2 days. That's still the status of Hockey in our country. One welcome sign is the Media and Corporate is chipping in with whatever little they think they could to 'promote' hockey. But then, when IPL Tsumani comes, everything would be washed away. Still we know cricket, cricket and only cricket. (Sad and sigh.)
