Uruguay thrashed SA by 3-0. They dominated the whole match for most of the time yesterday. But the Red card for the SA goalkeeper was bit harsh IMHO.

I was sort of hesitant to name the team of my preference ... till my team's first round match with Portugal. Yes, I am a perennial supporter of an underdog and Ivory Coast is my team to beat in this world cup. But honestly, I feel that they will be stopped at the round of 8. The other dark horses of my choice are Chile and Uruguay.

Among the WC favourites, it is Spain, Argentina and Brazil in that order, even after Spain's loss to Switzerland.

Voted for Côte d'Ivoire

Huh, outclassed and outperformed, Korea was really lucky to get that goal in. But they did play better in the 2nd half although conceded 2 more goals. But they were no match to the Argentinians. Argentina has now replaced Germany as the best team in this WC till now in my books. They are picking up quite well and quite dangerously for other teams comfort. They just need to tighten some screws in the defense mechanism and should be good to beat anyone. Let's see how is Germany, bring them on

I'm afraid both teams are peaking too soon.

It's a pity that only one of Germany and Argentina is likely to proceed beyond QF (according to form, they're likely to meet in QF).

Argentina, they will win it

They just demolished the Koreans. They need to tighten up their defense and that would make them really formidable.

Aguero and Maxi Rodriguez showed their bench strength today with Diego Milito still waiting for his chance!!

Does anyone know of any site streaming the matches live?

Yes, I used to like Forlan when he was in Man Utd ( am not a man utd fan though). The whole Conmebol set of teams are killer, including Paraguay, Chile!

Both Nigerians and the South Koreans shot themselves in the foot today!

France : Mexico. 0:0 after half time. Mexico are running rings around the French defence. They were unlucky to miss a couple. Looks like France has lost its teeth (maybe due to the internal problems with the manager). Bring on Thierry Henry!!!

Looks like Argentina & Germany are the teams to beat. Germany has played only one game till now. Let's see how they perform.

Ivory Coast should be the toast of all the African teams in the world cup. They are surely the dark horses of the tournament and South Africa played like a yesterday

So France is virtually out of the World Cup.

If I was the French FA president and had happened to watch the match would have fired the Coach Raymond Domenech over the public address system

What was he doing? This was totally absurd!! Why the hell did he not bring Henry on ?

A player like him did not reserve such treatment from the Coach. And what did his anointed one, Anelka do? Was he in invisible mode

Hi lloydof

you are correct!!! pathetic performance from France. This shows star players cannot do much until they are good team player. Coach will be sacked soon.

Good game. Mexico in almost total control of the game and a disoriented France. Definitely worth staying up for. Disappointing if you're a French supporter but C'est la vie.

what a disappointing performance from France. The coach was acting very stubborn taking off Anelka and not bringing Henry. What a bozo.?
