You are going to be burnt at stake for that question! rl:
Why a pod? Surely you may not be able to establish the time duration when the pods were done and you had them. Not much help on the machine side from me.

Why not nespresso itself? Keep an eye out on Amazon, the price frequently drops to 11-12k. Picked a krups mini a couple of months back. Working great!

Haha, I love how easy it is to get my daily fix. Anyways got this one for 11k. There are quite a few other options as well, should be similar.

Krups is not an Indian brand. Check whether warranty is available. Else you can go with coffeeza or Lavazza.
Hello everyone, looking for some help here please:
My wife's birthday is coming up next month, and I am planning to gift her a good coffee grinder. She is someone who loves her coffee, and has been experimenting with different coffee/brewing styles (I am a total noob when it comes to coffee, so I am not even sure if I am explaining it correctly).
Anyways, she had told me last year that she would love to get an electric grinder, so I am here to ask for help and see if there is a recommended product used by anyone among us (Budget is flexible, currently thinking of 10-20K price range, but ok to move up a bit if needed).
I noticed some brands like Baratza and Cafe Birraio on Amazon. Do they work for our power wattage?

Hi, first of all very considerate of you to listen and remember and gift her something she wants on her birthday:)
Don’t personally use one - I’m not that evolved in my game yet to invest this much! But I’ve only heard great things about the Baratza Encore, pretty much top of the line as far as burr grinders go. Since you’re a self proclaimed coffee noob maybe talk to the company selling it for details. I think the wattage shouldn’t be an issue the ones being sold here will come with an adapter. My coffee maker that I got from the UK has one. This link is a company that also helps with tech support.

One more vote for Baratza Encore. Had bought it from Blue Tokai's online store 8 years ago and it was 220volts version.
I was at Keurig headquarters in Boston for two weeks this month - we are helping them with their smart brewers. The offices have an amazing collection of coffee, easily more than 200 types.
That reminded me of this thread, and Sam.
Mods: apologies if irrelevant, please delete.

Wow 200 varieties of COFFEEE that's something I'm hearing for the first time. Great collection indeed. Any Indian variety there?

Wow. You've literally gone the whole 9 yards with Hand Grinder, Bottomless Portafilter, Distributor tool, etc.
I'm sure you enjoy the process as much as the result.
I'll need to upgrade some of my tools too. Only now have a managed to get consistent extractions. Still can't fathom how it goes inconsistent many time even though all parameters are exactly the same. I stopped thinking too much about it.
I had trouble with steaming too but that is now consistent after changing many techniques.
Cheers.

Just got a couple of upgrades myself. Changed the basket from stock to IMS Bigbang and the change has been really good! I can grind a lot finer now to get the same extraction. More flavour to the coffee! Also got a bottomless portafilter! It really feels great when I see no channelling!
Do share your techniques while steaming the milk. I have failed miserably and now use a Frother!

Nice.
I should go to Bottomless Portafilter soon too. need to start experimenting again. But first, predictable extraction. Same set of bean, same grind size - Different extraction results over time. I buy only a 250g bag of beans to ensure I get fresh roasted beans each time but you never know.
Sometimes it is under-extracted and sometimes over-extracted. I sometimes find it difficult to find the balance. It's an ongoing learning exercise.

Oh boy. I messed this up big time in the beginning and had to go over several video guides online. Below video actually helped me identify my problem.
Wand to the side of the wall and look for the 'soft paper tear' sound for the ideal steam injection.

This has been working well. That said, I still need to calibrate foam density to make Latte art which I am nowhere close to.
Happy learning.

If you want to practice dialling in your spro' and experiment with different variables while having freshly roasted beans consider getting some 500g and freezing it and then dosing as you see fit. Myself and many other specialty coffee enthusiasts, we usually buy stuff in bulk and freeze it and drink whenever we want, freezing essentially freezes the coffee in time so it doesn't fade and taste "brown". I also freeze coffee when I have a backlog of beans and I know I won't be able to finish everything in time or when I really like a bean and I want to save it for special occasions. Few tips to help you freeze your beans; Tape over the degassing valve to help avoid moisture getting in, Single dose coffee in tubes or smaller bags for ease of use, Rest before freezing so your coffee is at it's peak. The following videos will probably help you immensely.
