The Cricket Thread
(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/shifting-gears/8603-cricket-thread-1050.html)
The way SKY is batting, I think Rizwan's record is all set to be broken. And you have to consider the fact that SKY bats at 4 or 3 and Rizwan is an opener.
I don't know what Williamson is doing in recent T20s with these run-a-ball innings. In ODI and Tests, he is one the best New Zealand have produced. Even in T20s, the the scoring rate has dropped only recently. In the semi-final too, NZ fell 15-20 runs short because he couldn't accelerate in the death overs. Hopefully he can get back to being the destructive player he was, because if not, there are quite a few players who can replace him in the T20 side.
The way he is batting, we may soon need a new thread 'The SKY Thread' where you may get blocked for coming up with unheard adjectives to praise his form.
Looks like BCCI wont look back at Rohit Sharma as a captain anymore. Infact, I feel his place in international T20s is dubious. He has grown fat and round with hardly any contribution with the bat or with his captaincy.
Amazon prime video shows only match replays. No highlights?

There are Hindi highlights available on prime. Couldn't find English highlights and only full match recap.
I didn't feel like watching the match as soon as I saw Bhuvi in the playing 11 and Samson not in it.
Pant still seems a misfit for T20, they should focus on Ishan as the main wicket keeper give him a long run and he should be fine, bring back shaw at top with him. Iyer should make place for Samson and the team batting will look more sorted.
Harshal Patel should be playing ahead of Bhuvi, Bhuvi is a spent force now, maybe they played him due to swinging conditions.

English highlights were made available later. I too found only hindi highlights when I starting searching. But couldn't go beyond 3 minutes because of the poor level of commentary. Thankfully Amazon uploaded the english highlights by then.

Team management is making changes slowly, but I think they're on the right track. It was good to see Deepak Chahar back and performing well.
I think Pant can be rested from T20I for now so that Samson and Ishan Kishan can be given a long rope, they badly need game time and should not have the ambiguity of their place in the team playing on the mind.

Which match were you watching? :p:p
The only reason why I watch T20s these days is to watch SKY bat. I didn't watch the game but did watch the highlights just to make sure I didn't miss the brilliance completely.
The day they went back to Pant in the Zimbabwe game in the T20WC, I knew the campaign was doomed. It was a regressive *safe option* step that was never going to work. They have to get rid of Pant in T20s. His style of play overwhelms the 50over / red ball specialists but T20 specialist bowlers seem to have his number.
We have enough openers (Shaw / Gill / Gaikwad / Patidar) and enough keepers (Ishan / Samson) to keep Pant out of the T20 team. I hope the management finally bites that bullet.
You remove SKY's score from yesterday's match and the remaining team combined has scored 69 runs off 69 balls. :Frustrati
So, this team isn't that different from the main team. The only difference being: You didn't 5 additional batsmen to score 70 odd runs @strike rate of 100.
Kohli did that alone. rl:

rl: my bad, I didn't watch the game but caught up with brief scores in the newspaper and for some reason Deepak Hooda registered as Chahar in my mind
N.Jagadeshan of Tamil Nadu
breaks world record in Vijay Hazare trophy. He smashes
277 to notch up the highest individual score in List-A cricket. Not just that, Tamil Nadu too makes it to the record books with the highest List-A cricket team total ending up with a mammoth score of
506/2 in 50 overs against Arunachal Pradesh in Bengaluru.

And this is why I think the plate system in domestic cricket was better.
With Hardik Pandya shying away from bowling and not being consistent with batting what utility will he bring to the team if he is going to be a captain. The whole idea of bringing back Hardik was to have a 6th bowling option but now he seems to relaying on others to do that job.
