Re: The Cricket Thread

Have a look at this Win Probability at the moment

It predicts a draw more than any other outcome and even for win%, gives Australia a better chance

Re: The Cricket Thread

It’s quite remarkable how Washington Sundar has become the #1 choice over Jadeja and Ashwin. Feeling sorry for the unlucky Kuldeep. He has been performing reasonably well every time he plays that one off or two matches and then gets forgotten for few months. Now, with Washington Sundar in the mix, Kuldeep will continue to be in on off mode even longer. Tough call for the selectors, but I do feel sorry for such players who always dream of playing for India and they perform well too. But, on the whole it’s great to see how Indian cricket team has been raising the benchmark. Let’s see how the new match fee structure for Ranji and FC matches raises the quality by another notch in the coming years. There’s more to dream for youngsters just beyond IPL and they can have a solid and rewarding FC career even if they don’t make it to the big leagues.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Khwaja and Smith gone in today’s morning session, need to get Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh quickly and then Alex Carey who can be dangerous if he gets back in to form.

There is some history too as to why he is very outspoken with his praise for Anushka. That is because idiots on social media have blamed her for his bad performances in the past, so now he takes every opportunity that comes his way to heap praises on her for his good performances, giveback time. Absolutely nothing wrong there.

Love it when Kohli makes us eat a humble pie. Fabulous batting display by India and Virat.

Now I just hope India wrap this up by tea or post that. We don't want Bumrah tiring himself out. Remember this is a 5-test series and eventually we want to win this and not just the first test.

This is quite literally just a load of BS! Can you share the source ?

Australia are on the mat with 6 wickets down having just lost Travis Head. If they can even delay the loss by taking this game to the last session of Day 5 tomorrow, that will be a great achievement! Well, if Australia can go on to win the game from here, we just have to bow down and appreciate such a superlative performance which would be extremely rare and miraculous.

Re: The Cricket Thread

It is Bumrah again!!! Gets Travis Head caught behind.
Irrespective of our batsmen and their exploits, we are winning trophies, championships and tournaments only because of bowlers.

And dare I say, the legend of this generation from India is Bumrah. A cut above the rest (and yes that includes Kohli and Rohit).

Re: The Cricket Thread

I have been a great fan of Kohli in limited overs and rate him even above Sachin. He has been a great team player without thinking about his personal milestones.

But not getting carried away with this latest ton, he is past his prime. Him and Rohit have given us the most humiliating defeat ever at home. I don't remember us performing so badly even against the mighty Windies in their own backyard (?).

The team management has been too supportive of him in the last few years.

Agree to both, The bowlers and Lower middle order batting were crucial to many of our wins recently.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Just realised Bumrah has 93 number, a fan of marq marqez?

Not sure about that, but I am a humongous fan of Bumrah, once in a lifetime player so glad he plays for us and not for any other country. Player of this decade.

He wears it because he was born in 1993

Just google ‘ind vs aus ‘ and check under stats. I think its a software glitch today. Now its even worse. 99.5% draw probability it shows

Link

Usually its pretty much on-point but today seems to be going bonkers.

Looks like it

Man I so wish Bumrah continues as the captain. He seems more lethal with captaincy under his belt.

True, I think if India does not qualify for WTC they will make him full time captain, with Rishab as deputy, and Rishabh can captain in dead rubbers.

If it was on me I will declare that he is full time captain now itself, just like how transition happened between dhoni (another undeserving test match captain) and Kohli.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Australia all out for 238, done and dusted.

What a win, the thrill of beating (in this case thrashing) Australia in a cricket game is unparalleled.
Great team work, and winning on this ground where the odd ball did weird things and Australia having the best pace attack (between Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood they have 1000+ wickets) takes the cake!

An interesting stat is that India haven’t lost a BGT series after winning the first test.

I hope they don’t say or blame this as AI, it would be a shame for the technology

Re: The Cricket Thread

The only bad thing about this win is Sanju Manju commentating on the winning moments. I physically cringed when he anointed Jaiswal as the "new king"

Bumrah is in the same tier as SRT for me.

Going to raise it to 3-1. Any bandwagons want to join now?
