All set for Pink ball test, India won the toss and elected to bat first. Ash back to the side replacing Sundar.
On different note, has anyone observed how weird it looks when slip fielders and keeper standing on those white hero advertisements on ground. Looks as if they are standing near green screenrl:
Well, that's one way to start the match. A sacrifice to the cricket Gods, I guess :)
Meanwhile the Australian team are wearing black armbands in the second Test against India as a mark of 10th- year death anniversary of cricketer Phillip Hughes, who passed away during a Sheffield Shield match after getting struck on the head.
Indians should have worn too !!

The sacrifice has worked for Rahul with a wicket on no ball and a drop lol:
Despite the sacrifice to the gods off the 1st ball, the ghost of the 36 has been exorcised. Let's see if they can bury it for good.

Wasn't even a wicket, given that snicko didn't register any spike. Surprised he just began to walk off and didn't even consider reviewing.
And the wickets they keep a tumbling...81/4 now.
Hope Captain plays a solid innings.
So Jaiswal and Gill missed similar leg stump half volleys while KL & Kohli nicked off the exact same way getting confused whether to leave or play the ball, leaving us 81/4, collapsing from 69/1. It's the soft dismissals rather than the number of wickets that is frustrating.
Hopefully Rohit, Pant, & Nitish can get us up to 250 or so.
Lets hope Pant and Rohit can channel their inner Gods and save the day;)
Its been a seesaw battle so far, with both bat and ball dominating at different stages. Though we have found ourselves on the back foot at the moment.

Jaiswal got the first peach of the delivery, looked slow being the first ball, had it been later on, it would have been caressed for a boundary. So purely bad luck for him.
Gill was shuffling across the stumps almost on all deliveries, exposing his leg and middle stump, it was just a matter of time when a full ball would be darted onto his stumps and thats what Boland did.
KL & Kohli was just poor indecisive shot selection.
And Sharmaji pls captain the team from the sidelines.
I like the run-rate of today so far. All I wish is that we manage to get by this day and start a fresh tomorrow. Last two wickets should hold the fort now.
Even at 170/8 am hopeful with the situation. If we can get to 200 and put Australia to bat under lights it should be advantage India. With Bumrah in the lineup and Australia's batting being paper thin and to be honest worse than ours, we should get easy lead.
Day belongs to Australia, they did all the right things with the ball and have batted very well. Loved how they got Kohli out almost in absolute identical fashion as they got him in Perth. India need to regroup and come back stronger tomorrow, with our captain not able to bat on top of order or in middle of order we are anyway a batsman short.
I was rooting for Rohit to do good in this test. After a great win under Bumrah, he came back and joined the team under huge pressure. Both in terms of captaincy and batting.
Though his PR team will portray it as his 'selfless' act to give up his opening position, we all know the reason behind it. I wish him all the best to get some good knocks in this series and retire with head held high. We can't afford a 'non playing' captain.
Australia doing quite well at 186/4 with a 6 run lead currently. We need 3 quick wickets like now!
If they get a 100+ run lead, they will be in a commanding position and we need yet another superlative second inning to make a match of this.
Australia have dominated this test so far, good contest after losing the first test.
